Chapter 4: Relation of Education To Redemption

This document discusses the relationship between education and redemption through Jesus Christ. It makes three key points: 1) Jesus sacrificed himself to make communion with God possible again for humanity. He revealed God's glory and taught truth to counter the moral darkness in the world. 2) Christ brought certain knowledge of God and through receiving and obeying his word, people could become God's children. He taught principles of truth, obedience, honor, integrity and purity. 3) True education and redemption are expressed in God giving his son Jesus so that all who believe in him will have everlasting life. Christ's work was to restore humanity to its original state through divine power and healing the wounds of sin.

CHAPTER 4: RELATION OF EDUCATION TO REDEMPTION

Through the Savior’s sacrifice, communion with God is again made possible. We may
not in person approach into His presence, in our sinfulness we may not look upon His face, but
we can behold Him and commune with Him in Jesus, our Savior. God’s glory and majesty is
revealed in the face of His son Jesus Christ.
The only Begotten Son of God clothed His divinity with humanity, and came to our
world as a teacher, an instructor, to reveal truth in contrast with error. The saving truth was made
to stand out clearly defined amid the moral darkness prevailing the world. For this work Jesus
left the heavenly courts. He said to Himself, “For this cause came I into the world, that I should
bear witness unto the truth. The truth came from His lips with freshness and power, as a new
revelation. He was the way, the truth and the life. He came forth to the True Light, shining amid
the moral darkness, superstition and error. Christ opens heaven to man, and the life He imparts
opens the heart of man to heaven.
Christ brought to our world a certain knowledge of God, and to all who received and
obeyed His word, gave him power to become God’s children. He came forth to our world to give
instructions on every matter and subject essential that man show know in order to find the
pathway to heaven. It is His ambition to inspire men and women with principles of truth,
obedience, honor, integrity and purity- principles that will make them a positive force for the
stability and uplifting of society. He desires them, above all else, to learn life’s great lesson of
unselfish service. These principles will be the guide and direction in shaping and molding us to
exemplify Christ like character. These principles are embedded in the True education and
Redemption plans. Moreover, this is Christ personal method in reaching for humanity.
REFLECTION:
Education is a continuous process. It only ends when we die. It is very important
that what we are receiving, hearing and applying are in line with the truth that Jesus has founded
and taught way back when He still lives on earth. Otherwise we might be misguided, mislead,
and confused. Jesus life had been the perfect example of how we are going to live our life as
God’s precious children. He sets the foundation of true education, at the same reveals to us His
plan of redemption.
The first great lesson in all education is to know and understand the will of God.
Take His knowledge with us through our everyday life. Let it absorb the mind and the whole
being. God gave Solomon wisdom, but this God-given wisdom was perverted when he turned
from God to obtain wisdom from another source. To learn of God and Jesus Christ is to learn the
science of the Bible. The pure heart sees God in every providence, in every phase of true
education.
All the plan of redemption is expressed in these precious words: “For God so
loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.” Christ actually bore the punishment of the sins of the world,
that His righteousness might be imputed to sinners, and through repentance and faith they might
become like Him in holiness and character. Christ’s work was to restore man to his original state,
to hear him through divine power, from the wounds and bruises made by sin. Man’s part is to lay
hold by faith of the merits of Christ and cooperate with the divine agencies in forming a
righteous character; so that God may save the sinner and yet be just and His righteous law
vindicated. The price paid for our redemption lays a great obligation upon every one of us. It is
our duty to understand what God requires of us.
We should be learners everyday in the school of Christ, and become one with Him in the
work of training our minds. Christ the light of the world, has set the perfect example. We us His
sons and daughters, “LET US BE IMITATORS OF CHRIST”.
