Welcome To MY Presentation

This presentation provides an introduction to textiles. It defines textiles as fibers, yarns or fabrics made from natural or artificial fibers. The history of textiles dates back to fibers found in a Georgian cave. The core areas of textiles are spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing and printing. Textiles undergo processing including fiber production, yarn production, fabric production, wet processing and garment manufacturing. The presentation outlines the classification, production and types of fibers, yarns and fabrics. It describes textile machinery and the importance and applications of textiles in various industries.

MY PRESENTATION TOPIC

 INTRODUCTION TO TEXTILE
WHAT IS TEXTILE?

 The word “Textile” originally

applied only to woven
fabrics,now generally applied to
fibers,yarns,or fabrics or products
made offers.
HISTORY OF TEXTILES

 Textile identified by archaeologists is at

the Dzudzuana Cave in the Georgia.
 Flax fibers was discovered had been
twisted,cut,dyed a range of colors.
TEXTILE CORE AREAS

 Spinning
 Weaving
 Knitting
 Dyeing
 Printing
 Apparel
FLOW CHART OF TEXTILE
PROCESSING
TEXTILE FIBER

 The raw material(natural or artificial)

which is used to produce in order to
make fabric is called textile
fiber.Example- cotton, Polyester etc.
CLASSIFICATION OF
TEXTILE FIBER
INTRODUCTION TO YARN
PRODUCTION
 Spinning is the major part of the
textile manufacturing process where
three types of fibers are converted
into yarn,fabrics,finishing process such
as bleaching to become textiles.
YARN PROCESSING SYSTEM
Textile fabrics

 The term fabric can be defined as a

planner structure by
interlaced/interloped yarns or fibers
made by interlocking fibers.
TYPES OF FABRIC

 Woven fabric:Woven fabrics are made

by using two or more sets of yarn
interlaced at right angles to each
other.
TYPES OF FABRIC

 Knitted fabric:Knitted fabric are made

by intermeshing of loops of yarn and
can be composed of any kind of fiber,
yarn and industrial end-uses.
TEXTILE WET
PROCESSING
 Wet processing of textiles consumes
huge quantity of water and the
quality of the process largely
depends on the water quality.

processing
GARMENT
MANUFACTURING
 Garment manufacturing is an
assembly orientated activity with a
great range of raw materials,product
types, production volume, supply
chains and associated technologies.
