B. Developmental Activities

1. Review

Romantic period is within 1820 and 1900.

Romantic Period is also known as Romantic Era or Romanticism.

Romanticism as embodied most strongly in the visual arts, music and literature.

One of the most considerable qualities of the music of the Romantic period is the

use of extreme expression and emotion.

2. Motivation

a.) The class will be grouped into four.

b.) The teacher will show jumbled words.

c.) Each group will race to assemble the letters and get the right word.

3. Lesson Proper

1.) The teacher will show some pictures of opera house and theater house from different
places.

2.) Define the opera; discuss the components of the opera and composers of the romantic
opera during romantic period.

3.) Teacher will give and show some video or audio examples of the opera.

4.) Students will share their views and relate it to the present time,

1.) Teacher will ask student’s learning about the discussion.

2.) Student will share their learnings.

5. Application

1.) The students will divide the class into two groups.

2.) The teacher will ask the student to perform a short opera with the theme of
“Love/Romance”.

3) The teacher will give the criteria, duration, date of the performance.

IV. EVALUATION

Test in ½ piece of pad paper

1. It is a dramatic work of one or more acts set to music for singers and instrumentalist.

2. This city was known as the Operatic capital of the world.

3. Give the three countries that chiefly developed the Romantic Opera. (3 points)

V. ASSIGNMENT

Make an advance reading on Classical and Neo-classical Period.
