matrix method.

6) On Monday Joe bought 10 cups of coffee and 5 doughnuts for his office at the cost of $16.50.
It turns out that the doughnuts were more popular than the coffee. On Tuesday he bought 5
cups of coffee and 10 doughnuts for a total of $14.25. How much was each cup of coffee and
doughnuts? Use the Elimination Method.

7) The sum of two numbers is 81. The difference of twice one and three times the other is 62.
Find the two numbers. Use the substitution method.

8) David owns a restaurant and wants to order 200 dinner sets. One design cost $20 per set and
the other cost $15 per set. He has $3200 with which he has to buy the sets. How many of each
type of set should he buy if he has to use all the money and acquire 200 sets? Use the Cramers
Rule.

9) Two investments are made totaling $50,000. In 1 year the first investment yields a profit of
10%, whereas the second yields a profit of 12%. Total profit for this year is $5250. Find the
amount initially invested in each investment. Use the Inverse Matrix method.

10) The Perimeter of a rectangular floor is 90 feet. Find the dimensions of the floor if the length
is twice the width. Use the inverse matrix method.
