ICT COMPETENCY STANDARDS FOR PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS

Domain 1: Understanding ICT in Education


1.1 Demonstrate awareness of policies affecting ICT in education

Task 1 Lesson 1

Locate Annex C in CMO 74 or 75 s.2017. Review the competencies and read the
corresponding Performance Indicators under each of the 7 Domains. With your group,
identify one Performance Indicator for each cluster that you consider as most important
and that you are excited to do. Identify also one Performance Indicator that you consider
least important and that you are not excited to do. Place your answer on the matrix below:

Task 2 Lesson 1

1. Use the survey instrument on the Use of ICT in the Classroom found below.
2. Conduct a survey (online or through printed survey questionnaire) of at least 20
elementary teachers for those who will teach from K to Grade 6 or 20 high school
teachers for those who will be teacher from Grades 7 to Grade 12

3. Consolidate your data.

a. How many answered Yes or No for each item? What percent is Yes? No?
Answer:
For no.1,2, and 3 there are 100% Yes and 0% No
For no.4 there are 50% Yes and 50% No
For no.5 there are 75% Yes and 25% No
For no.6 there are 75% No and 25% Yes
For no.7 there are 100% Yes and 0% No
For no.8 there are 95% Yes and 5% No
For no.9 there are 75% Yes and 25% No
And for the last no.10 there are 100% Yes and 0% No

b. Which of the 10 item/s has more YES that NO answers? Rank the items with
more YES and rank the items with more NO.
There are more Yes answers in the items of 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10
And more No answers in the item of 6 while item no.4 got an equal results.
c. What meaning can you derive from your results?
Meaning there is a lot of teachers used and developed technology in their
teaching and they are aware of the policies that guide them in using it. They
have facilities of technology tools in terms of using it and they are aware of
ethical and legal responsibilities about ICT. Most of all they are all enjoy using
ICT tools in their teaching.

4. Submit a written report based on the result of your consolidated data.

Findings

1.) Based on the survey, most of the teachers/educators have access of technology used for
teaching especially during this new normal education with the percentage of 100 percent. As
shown in the table above.

2.) The data reveals that most of the teachers are aware of policies that guide them in the use of
ICT (Information Communication Technology) for the seek of safeness to their students with the
percentage of 100 percent.

3.) Eventually, most of the educators was still use non-digital learning resources in their teaching
process like the modular activity that given to each students with the percentage of 100 percent.
4.)The result are both equal 50 percentage of Yes and 50 percentage of No, meaning there are
teachers developed a digital resources for their learners and others was not.

5.) It reveals in the data that the teachers already adapt in using technology tools for classroom
activities with the percentage of 75 percent.

6.) The data shows that teachers/educators and not expert yet in ICT in terms of using it for their
teaching with a percentage of 75 percent.

7.) The data shows that basically the teachers/educators have facilities to use the technology
tools in their classes with the percentage of 100 percent.

8.) Furthermore, almost of the educators was aware of the ethical and legal responsibilities in the
use of ICT tools for their learners with the percentage of 75 percent.

9.) The data shows that most of the teachers responded the questionnaire with concerned to their
students learning observation with the use of technology tools nowadays have the percentage of
75 percent.

10.) Finally, most of the teachers are enjoyed using ICT tools in their teaching and learning
process towards their students with the percentage of 100 percent.

Meaning there is a lot of teachers used and developed technology in their teaching and
they are aware of the policies that guide them in using it. They have facilities of
technology tools in terms of using it and they are aware of ethical and legal
responsibilities about ICT. Most of all they are all enjoy using ICT tools in their teaching.
