Nowadays, we know that mobile addiction is increasing and day by day. Some people can't
live without a mobile phone even for a day. All people in this world use the mobile phone to
make social communication, to make a call, text, and etc. Mobile phones have become a part
of people's basic life. But if we didn't how to use the mobile phone in the right way, it will
bring negative effects to us. Especially for youth, because they are lack of self-control and it
will make them easy to have an addiction to the internet. I agree with the statement that says
mobile phone addiction among the youth is a serious problem. This is because our mobile
phone enables us to engage in games, social media, and online shopping. Mobile Addiction
also brings negative effects such as health issues like back and neck problems. But there is
another way to deal with this problem like limit the use of using the mobile phone.
First and foremost, mobile addiction can enable us to engage in games, social media, and
online shopping. This is because there are a statistic that says a user of mobile phone aged
between 13 to 19 years old spend at least 5 hours per day on average using platforms such as
Instagram, Whatsapps, Twitter, and Youtube. For example, the first thing they do in the
morning is to check their phone to see if there any new message or notification from social
media. When they got a notification from their phone they will see it and forget the things
that they should do on that day such as have to finish the homework that the teacher give
them yesterday. Thus, mobile addiction can enable us to engage in games, social media, and
online shopping.
Next, mobile addiction also can bring health issues like back and neck problems because
most people will arch down their neck when they used their phones. Looking down at the
mobile phone for an extended period can causes youth to have back and neck pain. For
instance, according to the statistic, 45% of the youngster from 16 to 24 years old suffer from
back pain due to the over usage of mobile phone. Besides that, they also can get neck
problems by always swapping their mobile phone for a long period. Hence, mobile addiction
also can bring health issues like back and neck problems.
Last but not least, there are ways to overcome this problem like limit the use of using the
mobile phone . By limiting the use of mobile phone and setting the numbers of how many
hours we want to spend on our mobile phone can avoid us of mobile addiction. We have to
aim how many hours we should spend on our mobile phone for each activity such as texting
15 minutes , social media 30 minutes, gaming 45 minutes, online shopping, or watching
videos for 25 minutes. By doing this we can overcome the addiction to mobile phones.
In conclusion, although having a mobile phone has many benefits but it also can bring
negative effects. So getting rid of this addiction might be challenging, but it is not impossible.
Therefore, we must limit the use of mobile phones or instead it may take charge of our lives.
If we feel, we are getting addicted to our mobile phone, we need to look for another method
and ideas to avoid this problem.
