Bewley's Lattice Diagram Is A Graphical Method That Has Been Widely Used For Determining The Value of The Travelling Wave in Transient Analysis
Overview
Bewley's lattice diagram is a graphical method that has been widely used for determining the value of the
travelling wave in transient analysis. In the project, you are asked to write a program code which calculate
and plot the value of the travelling waves for both the voltage and current.
Requirements
Part I
Write a code with any programming language (Ex: MATLAB function, C-language…etc.) which solve the
following problem:
An overhead line having a surge impedance of 400Ω is connected to transformer by short length cable 0.3
Km long having a surge impedance of 100Ω.A step wave of 100kv travels along the line towards the
cable.Assume that the transformer termination of the cable is an effective open circuit and velocity of
propagation on the cable is 150 m/ s.
After running your code, you should enter the data and the results are expected to be the voltage and current
curves at points A, B.
(Hint: voltage curves are included in sheet solution (ex.4)).
Part II
A more generalized code is required. The user will have as inputs: the number of the line sections, surge
impedance of each section, length of the line and propagation velocity.
The expected results:
The report should include flow chart, different scenarios and test cases.
The report should be in pdf format.
The report should be submitted by 1/6/2021 to projhv2021@gmail.com
A discussion will be made according to a schedule that will be posted later.
Regulations
1. The project is group based; individual work is not accepted. Each graduation project team
should present a project.
2. All the team members should carefully distribute the work among them and share their ideas (any
member can be asked about any part in the project).
3. The report should be well-organized and well-formatted.
4. Bonus marks for innovative ideas and extra-work.
5. On your report cover, write the names of the team members and list them in ascending order
according to your seat numbers.
6. On the report cover, write the e-mail of at least one member of the team.
7. Any copied/plagiarism codes from other teams, the report will be marked as zero.
