EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
I. Introduction
Reinforcement - The tour can reinforce or support what a teacher has been
instructing in class about a subject and help students understand a topic better.
Engagement- Teachers turn tours into mobile classrooms, and engage students to
collect data then assigning a project based on what they learned during the duration
of the tour.
Socialization - Taking students into a new environment give them the experience of
travelling in a group and teaches them to socialize and to be respectful of the
locations they visit.
New Insights- The tour can give new insights of the things outside the school which
can raise encouragements.
Bonding -They may be able to connect on more of a personal level without the
structure of the normal school days. Students may be able to spend much of the trip
day in small groups, observing, chatting and learning about each other, and it will
form a new bond among the students.
Real-world experience - Students practice their skills and critical thinking abilities
outside of the controlled class setting. Being about able to ask experts about their
particular area of study on the spot requires thinking. He is able to learn real-world
lessons.
Fun - No matter how much the students learn during a tour, their favorite memories
may be based on their enjoyment of the day. Students will have fun with their
friends and they also may return to the classroom with a renewed focus on their
schoolwork.
The tour provided valuable educational opportunities away from the classroom, without
using textbooks and other used in normal school setting. Students on educational tours can
often learn while having fun in a more informal environment.
Part of how students benefit from educational tours is by gaining new perspective on the
world. This is especially true for more extensive educational tours or trips where students
travel farther away from home. By coming into direct contact with a different environment
or even a new culture, students can better understand their place in the community and
develop openness to differences in others.
The call time is 6:00 am in front of the building of the college of agriculture. There
are three jeepneys rented out and each jeep had 20 plus student from BSABE 1-A and 1-
B and the others is ABE Stakeholders. Every each of us are excited to arrive in UPLB
because we expecting that we will gain some technique and ideas that is related in the
field that we choose and we didn’t disappointed by this expectation.
We stopped at a gasoline station near Los Bañ os, because there are so many of us that
need to pee in comfort room then we continue our travel to get to our destination. We
choose to pass in Maahas way or the shortcut for we are able to get there faster,
because there’s a traffic if we try to pass in main gate of UPLB and we thing it is better
for us to enjoy the trip.
We arrived at 7:45am in front of electrical engineering building UPLB, Pili Drive, Los
Bañ os, Laguna. While waiting for the registration, we explore the area and took some
photos for documentation. The registration started at 8:06am and ended at 8:55am.
Four minutes later the program started with an invocation and the singing of the
national anthem.
At the time of 9:36am Dr Arnold R. Elepañ o Dean, CEAT, UPLB was delivered the
welcome remarks and the followed by Dr. Rex B. Dimafelis Vice Chancelor, OVCRE,
UPLB to delivered the inspirational messages and he leaving a word that he is believe
that research is continuing process.
By the time of 10:05am Dr. Marlou D. Toledo shared the service and facilities of DTI
IV-A. She also shared the 7M or the 7 mindset of an entrepreneur and leaving a word

Victor A. Rudolfo Jr. Director, BIOMECH, CEAT, UPLB presented the BIOMECH
Accomplishment and milestone, 1979 and onwards and he said that Agricultural
technologies is continuing activities.
By the time of 2:41pm Dean Nen-Fu (Fred) Huang shared about Taiwan smart farming
V. Discussion
We gained understanding to a lot of things, some are new machines for us and some are
not. Mostly, what we have learned are not about the things that we saw, it’s about how
mechanism that will modernize our farmers current trend and the impact it causes in the
National Capital Region and on other places. In addition, we also realized that we should be
more particular in what we are doing right now to face such challenge. How job mismatch
happens that causes unemployment and this caught my attention. We are surprised that
there are such certifications and trainings that can help to determine the right job for
someone and fill the job mismatch that is happening between the academe and industry
sector. It was mentioned that grades and school you’ve come from is not a big deal
anymore whether you’ll be accepted on a company but rather it’s all about the skill you got
and the certifications to prove it.
One problem we saw during the visit is that, not all the companies take a deeper look in the
concept of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. It would be better if they give more
about it.
VI. Conclusion
By making the tour and having those companies visited actually planted the reality of life to
us. It made us realized what to do, how to do things, why we should do, when to do thing
accordingly, most common questions were answered. The exposure and engagement we
had will greatly affect our attitude towards the movement on the industry today.
VII. Acknowledgment
We show a big gratitude to our family, who supported my financially, mentally, emotionally
all along the way, and who also supported me in other stuffs that I needed by showing and
telling what I should do for further betterment. To the BioMech and AMTEC staff and
coordinators, Thank you very much!
