4-2. Operation Method

4-2-1. How to start RAS

During power-ON, whenever the ST Key is pressed with ‘FF’ inputted by the RSW, the machine will go
into RAS command waiting condition as shown in Fig.1.
When RAS is started, the LCD will display the characters as shown in Fig.2 by rotating the RSW.
The module has two modes (Remote/Local), and the setting will be fixed in accordance with the position of
Bit 1 of the DIP switch at the time of power-ON. (OFF: Remote, ON: Local)
When RAS is started under “Remote” mode, available commands are restricted.
(Refer to Chapter 6. RAS Mode List.)

Remark: RAS cannot be started while operation step is during initialization (0x00).

Figure 1. Starting RAS

Set “FF” by the RSW
When the RSW is rotated, the LCD changes as shown below.
The two digits number stands for the present setting of the RSW.
Unless the RSW is rotated or the ST key is pressed within 30 seconds, the LCD returns to the
previous
condition.

5. Error Code System

5-1. Error Code

An error code consists of two types of codes; namely, detailed code and process code.

XXXX + XXX
Detailed code Process code

‘Detailed code’ shows the contents of detected error together with the place of detection.
(Refer to Section 5. Error code list.)
‘Process code’ shows the operation executed when the error occurs.
(Refer to Section 6. Process code list.)

5-2. Display Mode

When an error occurs, an error code is displayed on the LCD display located in the Transport CPU board
as shown in Fig.1 below. The same error code is also displayed on the Terminal device. (Refer to
Terminal Device Specifications.)

*1. How to transport magnetic test notes for magnetic sensor adjustment
- Make sure that the machine is in the local mode.
(The machine should be switched on after No. 8 bit of DSW1 and No.3 bit of DSW3 of CPU-T board are set to
ON, and the remaining switches to OFF.)
- Set RSW (RSW1 and RSW2) of CPU-T board to “FF,” and press left SW (PSW1) of CPU-T board. (RAS mode)
- Set RSW to “07” of CPU-T board, and press PSW1 of CPU-T board.
Set RSW to “01” of CPU-T board, and press PSW1 of CPU-T board. (Reset mode)
- Set RSW to “02” of CPU-T board, and press PSW1 of CPU-T board.
Set RSW to “03” of CPU-T board, and press PSW1 of CPU-T board. (Feed and return mode)
- Put test notes at the note inlet, and they will be fed into the module and transported.

To finish this mode:

- Press PSW1, then press PSW2 (right SW) of CPU-T board.

*1. Adjust UV sensor and UV lamp after 120 seconds since power has been applied to them.

*2. A BVCPU board is matched with one specific recognition unit. So they must be used as a couple.
If any of a recognition unit, a sensor, or a board is replaced, this adjustment is mandatory.

*3. After completing transportation speed check and magnetic sensor adjustment, be sure to return
all the bits of DSW on the CPU-T board to OFF.
