First we will need to gather all the
necessary devices and equipment
that we will use for the set-up. We
will need the following: - Pause
1. Lavalier Microphone
2. Laptop and its power cord or charger
3. LCD or DLP projector
4. With its power cord and VGA connector
5. Overhead projector screen
6. PPT Remote
7. Speaker / Audio system
8. Microphone
9. Audio connectors, the 6.5 mm male to
male jack and 6.5 mm female to 3.5mm
male audio connector
10. Extension outlet power source.

Before we begin our set-up let us identify the


different parts of a projector.

MID SHOT
Now that we had identified the different parts of a projector, let’s begin with the
connection.

CLOSE UP SHOT
1. We will connect the VGA cable to the laptop’s VGA port. Make sure that it is in
the proper orientation to prevent damaging the laptop’s HDMI port.
2. The next step is to connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the LCD
projector’s HDMI port.
3. Connect the power cord of the laptop to its power port.
3. Next, we will connect the audio cable connectors from the speaker to the
amplifier’s audio output port. Plug-in the white RCA connector to the white port
and red RCA for the red port.
4. Connect the audio connector of the amplifier to the audio port of the laptop.
5. Connect the power cord to the power socket of the LCD Projector.
6. Plug in the power cord of the LCD projector to the extension wire.
7. Plug in the power connector of the laptop to the extension wire.
7. Lastly, plug the power cord of the amplifier-speaker to the extension wire.

Presentation process

MEDIUM /CLOSE UP SHOT


Turn on your laptop.
Power on the LCD projector. And press the power button for the second time for
the display.
And also turn on the speaker.

MID SHOT
We will need to wait for a couple of minutes for the LCD projector to display. While
waiting we can now login to our computer.

Now that the projector screen has a display. Adjust necessary settings such as the
focus ring, keystone adjuster and elevator foot. When everything is set, we can
now access our video presentation from the local drive of our computer. Adjust the
volume of the speaker if needed.
The video lesson is now presenting…
MID SHOT
After the session, close the video presentation and shut down the computer
properly.

CLOSE UP SHOT
Turn off the LCD projector by pressing the power button twice.
Disconnect the HDMI cable from the laptop and LCD projector.
Turn off the Amplifier-speaker and unplug it from the extension.

MID SHOT
And that’s all. I have successfully connected a laptop to a projector and an
amplifier-speaker to a laptop. I am now ready to Utilize Electronic Media in
