CS8611 MINI PROJECT WORK
OBJECTIVES :
To develop the ability to solve a specific problem right from its identification and literature
review till the successful solution of the same. To train the students in preparing mini project reports
and to face reviews and viva voce examination.
The students in a group of 3 to 4 works on a topic approved by the head of the department
under the guidance of a faculty member and prepares a comprehensive mini project report after
completing the work to the satisfaction of the supervisor. The progress of the mini project is evaluated
based on a minimum of three reviews. The review committee may be constituted by the Head of the
Department. A mini project report is required at the end of the sixth semester. The mini project work
is evaluated based on oral presentation and demonstration.
COURSE OUTCOME :
On Completion of the mini project work students will be in a position to take up any
challenging practical problems and find solution by formulating proper methodology.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Each batch should maintain this mini project handbook with complete details.
2. Student must bring the handbook and file to all the review sessions and also while meeting
their respective Supervisor / Coordinators / HOD.
3. Internal mark will be awarded based on the internal review mark.
4. All the completed mini projects will belong to the institution and need to be submitted to the
coordinator to get no dues clearance.
5. The consumables required for the mini project should be taken care by the students.
6. Review will be conducted only in the presence of the supervisor.
7. Final working model should be painted neatly and specification details should be embedded on
the final review itself. (Name plate: mini project title, name of the students with Reg.No., Name
of the Supervisor; Specification board: Specification of the machine)
8. There will not be any re-review for the students those who failed to attend the review.
9. This mini project workbook must be submitted to the coordinators at the end of the pre-final

ABSTRACT
The android platform is the primary leading operating system in the mobile
phone market, followed by the iOS platform while the rest of the platforms have
a negligible share in the mobile operating systems market. So, it’s safe to say
that android is the fastest growing mobile operating systems platform and
creating an android application will be increasingly profitable. And so, the
proposed system is a weather forecasting android application. This application
shows weather forecasts while travelling, weather forecasts for tourist spots,
weather news, weather forecasts for cities, and weather facts. We analyzed
several weather forecasting android applications, and we came up with features
which do not exist in those applications, and we implemented those features.
This application is aimed to help tourists, travelers, and common people. This
application also sends weather alerts and weather notifications. This application
has several benefits such as accurate weather predictions, adaptability and so on.
ACCEPTANCE OF SUPERVISOR
