Billing Payment Applications (EBA) is the core banking system of EVERTEC, Inc. serving the
retail and commercial banking customers of EVERTEC Inc. The Primary driver for the EBA re-
architecture initiative undertaken by EVERTEC, Inc. is to move the current retail and
commercial banking platform from a pre-
dominantly Batch Oriented System to a Real-Time System transfers.
EBA application is a custom built solution developed using COBOL, CICS, VSAM, Eazytrieve
and Assembler. To improve its operational efficiency and provide superior service levels to its
customer, EVERTEC Group LLC. has planned to revamp its legacy EBA application into
modern banking platform using new technology products.

Project Overview:
INS is an amalgam of two earlier systems – MANUS and JNS. MANUS for the network
joining main nodes and JNS for network out to smaller exchanges. INS does not cover the
‘Local Lines’ from exchange out to the customer. Most INS sub-systems deal at the
exchange to exchange level, ECS, the newest development looks at the contents of the
station itself. INS is used to view the current utilization of the network, in terms of circuits
and routes, and also allows planning for future use.

Responsibilities:
Involved in full project life cycle involving Requirement Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing
and Implementation phases
Involved in preparing the technical design documents and carrying out walkthrough
meeting with the IT & Business managers.
Modified and tested COBOL and CICS programs and JCL codes per the requests of
business departments.
Take new scheduling requests from programmers, set up CA-7 job definition,
schedules, triggers and requirements.
Monitor and ABEND resolution of MVS CA-7/CA-11 batch processing.
Creation and maintenance of mainframe execution JCL (jobs) to support system
replacement project in User acceptance (UAT) and Production environments.
Extensive coding using COBOL, JCL and VSAMs.
Preparing System test cases and performing UAT activities.
Gathering Signoffs from Business.
Preparing End of schedule report and carrying out minutes of meeting with the team.
(Both offshore and onsite) at the end of the schedule.
Use SQL (complex queries) to query the database.
