STATE OF THE SCHOOL ADDRESS

By MARIA CONSUELO E. DAMASO / School Principal II

Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you

believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take
responsibility for making it so.
These words of Noam Chomsky inspires me to continue and sustain
the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant and liberating basic education
services to our learners in the midst of COVID19 emergency through our
chosen learning delivery modality to replace face-to-face learning relative to
the implementation of DepEd Order No.8, s. 2020.
I am very much elated to state our small and big accomplishments
through our joint effort during these trying times in bridging the gap in
learning for the School Year 2020-2021.

STUDENT/ PUPIL DEVELOPMENT

Learners of Pinagrealan Elementary School were given priority to

continue learning by choosing Modular Distance Learning. With this, they
were given modules to study guided with their parents and followed-up with
their advisers through text, chat and ‘Online Kumustahan’. Teachers also
created different platforms to inform them in different aspects of learning so
that they will be educated even at home.
Extra-Curricular Activities were also implemented. Learners joined
and competed in different contests online and won especially in the field of
campus journalism wherein:

Learners were also joined in different programs, projects and activities

mandated by the Department of Education (DepEd) for them to mold and
shape holistically as well-rounded individuals.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT

In order to boost the morale of every teacher of Pinagrealan

Elementary School, the school conducted different webinars through School
Learning Action Cell (SLAC) especially in Mental Health Awareness so that
they will be geared-up and ready to transfer learning to our learns for the
SY 2020-2021.
When it comes, to their professional development, teachers were
encouraged to enroll in their graduate studies and helped them prepare
documents for their ERF or ranking to elevate their current positions.

They were also shaped up in different teaching strategies for them to
be ready in the challenges of the New Normal Landscape of Education by
training them in creating video lessons, writing modules, and informing in
the process flow of our chosen modality.

Furthermore, teachers were trained to develop their research skills so

they will come up for more innovations and development regarding to the
learners’ development and school improvement for better learning to
happen.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

To cope up in the challenges brought by COVID-19 pandemic,

educational system was changed into New Normal and to adopt this,
Pinagrealan Elementary School implemented School Learning Continuity
Plan (SLCP). Modular Distance Learning was the chosen modality for it is
the most suited flexible learning in the area where the school located.
Different conferences and webinars were conducted to train our
teachers so that they can easily adopt in the changing style of teaching and
learners will appreciate the self-learning modality and be relaxed studying at
home.

PHYSICAL FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT

Creating Child-Friendly School Environment is our top priority.

DRRM, School Directory and schedule of distribution and retrieval of
modules were put in tarpaulins for the learners, internal and external
stakeholders to be informed.
Meanwhile, internet was installed in order to communicate easily
online, while CCTV was also installed to monitor every activity in and out of
school premise. Classrooms were repainted to be more pleasing in the eyes
of the visitors, parents, learners and stakeholders.
All of these contribute in creating a good school climate wherein
shared-decision making and responsibilities are being exercised to achieve
the one common goal and that “Quality Education in New Normal”.

COMMUNITY LINKAGES

According to M. Scott Peck, there can be no vulnerability without risk;

there can be no community without vulnerability; there can be no peace,

and ultimately no life, without community. This statement is very true in
Pinagrealan Elementary School, for a school can’t stand alone without
community. Through the help of our internal and external stakeholders like:
GPTA Officers headed by Hon. Ana C. Eclarino, Barangay Officials
spearheaded by Hon. Roland Echaure, brgy. Captain; LGU through the
management of Mayor Napoleon Edquid and others, empower school to be
more resilient during this time of pandemic. They help us materialized the
needed resources and materials in our distribution of modules, in improving
our school ground and the likes.

RESOURCE GENERATION AND FUND DEVELOPMENT/ MANAGEMENT

The main source of the school fund came from Maintenance and
Other Operating Expenses (MOOE). Office supplies, medical and dental,
PWD and senior citizen, GAD, other materials and supplies, semi-
expendable equipment, utilities, internet subscriptions, training and travel
allowance, repair, and agricultural supplies were funded of it.
Moreover, the other expenses that cannot be shouldered by the school
were being donated and funded by the following:

TEACHER AGAPE, PLS LIST DOWN ALL THE DONATIONS AND DONORS
PLS

Because of their kindness and concern to the education of our young

learners, they were one with DepEd Mantra “Para sa Bata, Para sa Bayan”.
With them, our school will continue to soar high and together be proud in
unison “Stronger Together, One Pinagrealan”.
