Solve-Problem of Power: Up A 5-Percent Grade at A Constant Speed of 15 Mi/hr?

The document contains 5 physics problems involving calculating power output in different scenarios: 1) Calculating the power output of a man riding a bicycle up a 5% grade hill at 15 mph. 2) Calculating the velocity and spring deflection of a 2kg collar sliding down an inclined rod with 0.4 kinetic friction. 3) Calculating the velocity of two released cylinders, one 40kg and one 50kg, with the 50kg attached to a 20kg mass or force. 4) Calculating the average power output of a 120lb woman jogging up stairs in 5 seconds. 5) Calculating the power output to drive wheels of a 1500kg car that accelerates to 50k

Solve-problem of power

Q1// The man and his bicycle together weigh 200 lb. What power P is the man developing in riding
up a 5-percent grade at a constant speed of 15 mi/hr?

Q2//The 2-kg collar is released from rest at A and slides down the inclined fixed rod in the vertical
plane. The coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.40. Calculate (a) the velocity v of the collar as it strikes
the spring and (b) the maximum deflection x of the spring.
Q3//Each of the two systems is released from rest. Calculate the velocity v of each 50-lb cylinder after
the 40-lb cylinder has dropped 6 ft. The 20-lb cylinder of case (a). Is replaced by a 20-lb force in case
(b).
Q4//The 120-lb woman jogs up the flight of stairs in 5 seconds. Determine her average power output.
Convert all given information to SI units and repeat your calculation.
Q5//A car with a mass of 1500 kg starts from rest at the bottom of a 10-percent grade and acquires a
speed of 50 km/h in a distance of 100 m with constant acceleration up the grade. What is the power P
de livered to the drive wheels by the engine when the car reaches this speed?
