Reflective Writing For Optimization Project 1
For this project I learned about linear programming through an experiment based
campaign where I would learn how to maximize the amount of people exposed to TV
and radio advertisements. I was given some restrictions and then created equations that
I graphed to find the feasible region of maximization. To accomplish this, I used linear
would be beneficial that deals with hand sanitizer production. The application would be
based on how much hand sanitizer should be produced depending on the profit made
from purchasers where loss of material and cost are minimized. Restrictions/outlines
similar to this math project could be drawn in the beginning including budget and
the details of this project to clients so that they would understand that spending time on
the project is beneficial and prudent to being able to make them the most amount of
money.
If one variable changes then the entire equation would change. Such as, if the
budget decreased then there would be less ads available for purchase. If the cost of an
I found 15.2 radio ads and 46.8 TV ads I would round down to 15 radio ads and 46 TV
This assignment did change my opinion on the usefulness of math. I use math
there was a lot of math used in other professions but I never thought about math in
advertising. I can see now how advertising would actually be one of the professions that
uses the most math because advertising is really just all about money. Another
profession that I recently realized uses a lot of math is working in the kitchen as a
chef/cook. Chefs are constantly dividing and multiplying fractions to make their recipes
for more or less people. I can see how understanding fractions would be important so
