Qualitative Inorganic Analysis: Preliminary Examination

The document describes qualitative inorganic analysis to identify an unknown salt. It outlines a series of tests including solubility, reactions with acids and bases, and presence of gases. Specific cation and anion tests are used to deduce the presence of ions like carbonate, sulfate, nitrate, chloride, acetate and basic radicals. Group analysis further identifies cations like lead, copper, aluminum, zinc, barium, strontium and calcium. Through systematic testing and interpretation of observations, the unknown salt can be fully characterized.
