Pateros Catholic School: Senior High School Department
The subject covers various contemporary arts practices of the region where the school is located. It aims to provide
students with an appreciation of a broad range of styles in the various disciplines with consideration on their elements
and principles and engage them to an integrative approach in studying arts. Through this subject, students will broaden
and acquire the necessary creative tools that open opportunities in pursuing their individual career goals and
aspirations.
First Quarter
Content Standard:
• The learner demonstrates appreciation of contemporary art forms, found in the various regions by
understanding the elements and principles
• Understanding of the significant roles of artists from the regions
Performance Standard:
• The learner: presents a form of integrated contemporary art based on the region of his / her choice. e.g.
choreography, musical instrument, literary and music composition, visual design, and/or theatrical performance
• Creates avenues to advocate the arts from the different regions
• Describes various contemporary art forms and • Arts Movements and Styles
their practices from the various regions
Second Quarter
Content Standard:
• The learner demonstrates appreciation of contemporary art forms, found in the various regions by
understanding the elements and principles
• Understanding of the significant roles of artists from the regions
• Shows understanding of the materials and techniques
Performance Standard:
• Critiques available local materials and appropriate Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan for Craft
techniques used in creating art
• Promotes arts from the regions
