• Tank defueling is carried out by disconnecting the supply hose
to the corresponding engine, connect the supply line to a
suitable container and operate the tank booster pump.
• When defueling a fuel tank 285 l (228 kg) fuel remains in the
other tank.
• When defueling is complete, 15 l thru 20 l of fuel remains in
each tank.
To drain the tank completely you must operate the Fuel Drain
Valve.

LANDING GEARS LEADING PARTICULARS

MAINTENANCE INFORMATION • Nose wheel tires inflation pressure 9.1 ± 0.1 bar (131.95 ±
• Landing gear temperature must become stable before filling 1.45 psi)
shock absorbers with nitrogen. • Main wheel tires inflation pressure 15.85 ± 0.1 bar (229.82
• Helicopter must be lifted on jacks with the landing gears fully ± 1.45 psi)
extended before shock absorbers filling with nitrogen.
• Grease the nose landing gear collar until clean grease flows
out from the top or bottom surface according to the grease
nipple used.
• Grease the main landing gear pin until clean grease flows out
from the outboard or the inboard pivot point of the trailing
arm according to the grease nipple used.

• You must be careful, because the nitrogen pressure can

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
cause an injury to persons or damage to the helicopter.
• The materials that follow are dangerous. Make sure that you
know all the safety precautions and first aid instructions for
these materials:
• Cleaning solvent
• Grease
• When filling the tires make sure that all the equipment and the
tools are clean. Hydraulic fluid, oil, dirt or grease can cause
an explosion.
NOTE
Make sure that all the pressure gauges on the tire inflation rig
are serviceable. Read the label on the pressure gauges and
make sure that the test date is satisfactory.
Make sure that you do not inflate the tires too much. If you do
not obey this instruction you can cause an explosion and
possibly cause an injury to persons.
NOTE
Inflate the tire slowly and with a continuous increase in pressure
until the tire is at the correct pressure. It is dangerous to inflate the
tire too quickly as this can cause an explosion.

• When you use the nitrogen make sure that:

• The equipment and the tools have no dirt, grease or oil on
them.
• The valve that supplies high pressure to components is
opened slowly to prevent fast increase in the temperature
and pressure.

• All the pressure gauges are in the date of test.

In order to clean the helicopter with chemical agents: THAT ALL PARTS OF THE HELICOPTER ARE AT AMBIENT
TEMPERATURE.
• The helicopter must be parked on an approved outer area
for the clean.
SPECIAL TOOLS
• Make sure that all the access panels/doors are
installed/closed. • Platform (RH side)
• Make sure that all the covers of the helicopter are installed. • Platform (LH side)
• Prepare a solution with the cleaning compounds and the
water. Put the clean solution into the cleaner tank of the
hydro cleaners. Then clean the helicopter with a low-
pressure jet and keep the hydro jet at a distance not less
than 300 mm (12 Ft) form the helicopter surfaces.

• Dry the helicopter surface with the cloth or use a flow of low
pressure compressed air only in the areas where you cannot
use the cloth.
WARNING
THE MATERIALS THAT FOLLOW ARE DANGEROUS. BEFORE YOU
DO THIS PROCEDURE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU KNOW ALL THE
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND FIRST AID INSTRUCTIONS FOR
THESE MATERIALS:

• ALIPHATIC NAPHTHA
• CLEANING COMPOUND (TWO TYPES)
