This document explains how to play Standard Midi Files (SMF) on a Yamaha Motif synthesizer. You can import any .mid file into the Motif's SONG mode by pressing FILE, LOAD, selecting SONG as the file type, highlighting the .mid file and pressing ENTER. The Motif will take a few seconds to load the file. You can then press SONG and recall that song to play it back. If the midi file follows GM standards, the Motif should automatically recall the correct voices for each part when played.
