When I compare numbers, I always start with
the greatest place value. The greatest place
value in 367 and 376 is the hundreds place.
Both numbers have a 3 in the hundreds place.
So, I look at the tens place. The number 367 has
6 in the tens place. The number 376 has 7 in
the tens place. I know 6 is less than 7. So 367 is
less than 376. I can use a symbol to compare
the numbers:
367 , 376
I can use words to compare the numbers: 367 is
less than 376.
