The machine should be moved wrapped in durable
WARNING packing materials and with covers for electrical protection.
The operator could be injured if proper safety measures
are not taken.

This machine meets the standards for preventing radio


interference in commercial and industrial districts.
Accordingly, using this machine near residential areas
may obstruct reception radio and television signals .
Proper use of the machine by following the instructions
contained in this manual is required.

Do not operate the machine without proper protective


measures or at an improper location, as well as do not
operate the machine neglecting the standard safety
regulations. Accidents could occur and the operator could
be injured.

Do not operate the machine while the door is open.

Preface
We are grateful to you for buying the Component Placer (hereinafter referred to as the
"machine") manufactured by Samsung Techwin Co, Ltd.
A Component Placer is a machine that picks a component from a component supply
device such as feeders and places the component on the supplied PCB.
This machine has high speed driving area, vacuum pressure operated device, and high
voltage power area. If the machine is not properly operated, safety hazards may serious
injury or death.
The user here includes personnel involved in software programming, installation,
maintenance, and repair of standard system hardware and supply devices such as feeders.

Before operating this machine

w Before operating this machine, please read this manual and understand its contents.
Please keep this manual near the machine at all times so that it can be referred to as
necessary.
w People who have not received training on this machine should not handle it.
w Samsung also provides a training program for operating this machine. For details,
please contact the C/S Company (STS) designated by Samsung Techwin Co., Ltd..
w To assure safety in the operation and maintenance of the machine, it is very important
for the user to know the location of potential safety hazard. Please refer to “Safety

About Safety
For correct and safe operation of this equipment, regulations and instructions related to
safety mentioned in this manual should be always observed.
w The basic points to be observed while in operating this equipment are as follows:
§ Repair and maintenance of this equipment not contained in this manual shall be
performed by the authorized company service personnel. No repair and
maintenance should be done by customers on his or her own. Unexpected
accidents may occur.
§ Do not insert a part of a human body (hand, head, etc.) within the range of
motion of the driving part during the operation of this equipment. That can lead
to personal injury.
§ Hand should be placed on the operation panel or near the EMG switch
(emergency stop switch) of the teaching box while teaching or operating the
machine so that the machine can be stopped on short notice in case of an
emergency.
§ Do not use the machine where inflammable gas is present or contamination is
severe.
w Cautions to be exercised for the safety are described as follows in this manual.

machine. Follow the instructions on each label for operating this machine safely. If a label
has come off or has damaged, put a new one on a proper position referring to the

Do not dismantle the head area. It could cause


a serious damage to the head area.

Do not put a hand in during operation.


Part where this label is attached contains
moving parts, it is very dangerous if the user
disassembles any part or open the cover when
the moving part is maneuvering.
Stop the machine be fore servicing.

or error troubleshooting.

If the cover is removed from the area


where this label is attached, it could
result in an electric shock.
When it is necessary to remove the
cover for repair or maintenance,
disconnect power, wait a little while, and
remove the cover.

As high voltage flows inside the cover


and in the area near the connector, take
precautions against electric shock. Be
sure to disconnect the main power
source and install a lock before
maintenance or repair.

Do not remove the safety device. It could

problems.

About Warranty
The warranty is issued to cover the following machine faults and malfunctions:
What is covered If any part of the equipment fails to function properly under
by the warranty normal usage due to defects in material or workmanship, it will
be repaired by Samsung Techwin Co.,Ltd. at no charge for
either parts or labor.
Time period of The term of this warranty shall expire for any of the following
the warranty cases.
Ÿ 18 months have elapsed after the delivery of the product
Ÿ 1 year has elapsed after installation of the product
Ÿ 2,400 hours have elapsed after the commencement of
operation.
What is not Any of the following cases are not covered by this warranty

Ÿ Data lost due to HDD damage. Back up is desirable.
Ÿ Malfunction of the machine due to running applications,
which are not any part of the machine, or infected by any
computer viruses.
Ÿ Normal wear and tear due to long-term use or faults arising
from normal use (natural fading of coating and plating,
wearing-out of parts, etc.)
Ÿ Delicate changes do not affect the functional quality of the
product (such as noise of an operating controller, sound of
a rotating motor, etc.)
Ÿ Faults due to the ambient conditions (moisture, impurities,
dust on the machine, oil mist, etc.)
Faults resulting from the following cases are not covered by
this warranty as well:
Ÿ Natural disasters such as earthquake, typhoon, flood,
lightning strike, etc., or accident, and fire.
Ÿ Reconstruction which is not approved by our company or
agents.
Ÿ Not performing back up for the data stored in the
equipment.
Ÿ Use of parts or lubricating oil which are not designated
Ÿ Insufficient or faulty maintenance or inspection.
Ÿ Adjustments performed by persons other than designated
agents.

However, the contents of the warranty stipulated at the time of purchase take precedence
over the above coverage.

The "Maintenance Guide" contains 'CP Series' preventive maintenance information. For
smooth running of your component placer, perform the preventive maintenance
procedures presented here.
Preventive maintenance, other than the information presented here, should not be
performed without the authorized personnel of Samsung Techwin Co.,Ltd.
Preventive Maintenance

Chapter 1. Preventive Maintenance


1.1. Maintenance Procedure
The following procedures should be performed before doing any maintenance task.
1. Check to see if all the operations of the equipment are complete.
2. Turn off the Isolation Switch.
3. Turn off the Main Circuit Breaker.
4. Perform the maintenance tasks according to the directions explained in the following
sections.

After completing the maintenance tasks, please follow the procedures outlined below in
order to operate the equipment properly.
1. Check to see if there are any abnormal substances in the maintenance area, and if any,
remove them.
2. Make sure that all the parts are re-assembled properly.
3. Turn on the Main Circuit Breaker.
4. Turn on the power of the equipment according to the procedures mentioned in “4.1
Power Inspection (Page 4-1)”.
5. Confirm that the equipment is operated normally without any problem.

Please turn off the main power switch before performing any
maintenance related tasks. Loss of human life may occur if
proper safety measures are not taken.
