* N.B.:
1) a.m. = in the morning.
p.m. = in the afternoon / in the evening.
2) - 7 a.m. = 7 o’clock in the morning.
- 7 p.m. = 7 o’clock in the evening.
- 2:30 p.m. = half past two in the afternoon.
3) - half past seven = 7:30
- eight o’clock = 8:00
- one o’clock = 1:00
- half past four = 4:30
- half past five = 5:30

• Action Verbs: ( activities we do)

Get up - eat - walk (to) - have - drink - play - go - ride - help -


look at - fly - wear - come (to) – feed.

*N.B.:
We say:
- Have lunch / breakfast
- Eat (sandwiches)
- Walk to (school ) with (a person / people)
- Play (tennis)
- Go home
- Ride (a bike )
- Drink ( water / juice )

• Other words:

- Parents = Mum and Dad → Children


- Grandparents = Grandma and Grandpa (Granddad) → Grandchildren
- Brother – (Baby) Sister – Cousin(s).
- Hair – Glasses
- Kite – Park – Place – Here – Day – The sky – Together - Meal – Food –
Cake - Ice cream – Cookies – Sunscreen – nest (s) -cub (s) – pride –
herd.
- Animals have families too.
*Baby birds live in nests. Their mom & dad feed them.
*Baby lions are called cubs. They live in a group called a pride. Most of
the lion families live together.
*Baby elephants live in a herd with lots of other elephants.

N.B.:
- feed comes with people /animals. It means to give food to eat.

• Adjectives: They are describing words.


Ex.: Curly – Brown – Short – Black – Gray – Tall – Sunny – New –
Nice - White – Blue – Red – Lovely – new – windy – special

I) Present Simple :
• Form:
A) The Verb with (I) doesn’t change
I → play / go / have / eat / ride / walk / come to / fly
I → get up / drink / wear / look at
B) The Verb changes with He / she
. eat → eats . drink → drinks
. wear → wears . ride → rides
. walk → walks . Have → has
. come to → comes to . look at → looks at
. get up → gets up

• Questions & (Short answers) :


*N.B.
a) Does Molly go to school by bus?
- Yes, she does.
- No, she doesn’t.
b) Do Ben and you have lunch at five?
- Yes, we do.
- No, we don’t.
c) Do you get up at six in the morning?
- Yes, I do.
- No, I don’t.

II) Present Continuous Form :


Verb to be + action verb + ing
(am-is –are) (go, sleep , play , …) ing
Eg.: 1- Ben is riding his bike now.
2- Kim and Sam are playing football.
3- Grandma is baking a delicious cake.
