Identifying the Purpose of the Instructional Materials

The importance of producing instructional materials is to facilitate the teaching-learning process. The
essence is not to use the instructional materials as objects of decoration but instructional materials must be
utilized for an effective, meaningful, and interactive teaching-learning engagements.
As you identify and search for the needed instructional materials in the lesson plan assigned to your
program, consider the following purposes why teachers use instructional materials in teaching.

There’s no major problem in preparing and selecting instructional materials. I have a complete resource
needed to perform the activity. I have a curriculum guide in Mathematics, learner’s material for Grade 9 Math
and internet to search for an accurate and updated materials for the lesson. Also, I make sure that all IMs are
aligned in the lesson objectives. My target illustrations are economically friendly, creative and imaginative, and
clear to the learners

The goal of learning experience 1 is to look for instructional materials. Instructional


materials are used by teachers as effective tools to improve their teaching and learning processes. The use
of IMs effectively ensures active and productive learning and assessment. This learning experience's entire
activity contributed to an enormous amount of knowledge and skills in preparing and selecting instructional
materials.

1.1 Exposure assisted me in identifying, selecting, and collecting instructional


materials for Pythagorean Theorem. This allowed me to examine both actual learner's
materials as well as online resources.
1.2 Through participation, I was able to see the different purposes of instructional material. This
part of the activity explained the purpose of instructional material. I was able to realize that
instructional materials are not just decorative; they aim to improve teaching and learning.
1.3 Identifying the five principles that comprise an instructional material helps me to make a more
informed decision. The materials should align with the learning objectives, be accurate and up
to date, be financially friendly, be creative and imaginative, and be balanced.
1.4 Through internalization, I have been able to apply the goals and principles of instructional
material to the selection and crafting of materials for the lesson Pythagorean Theorem.
1.5 The dissemination process allows me to match specific objectives to a better learning
material by making use of the principles of IMs.

In general, this learning experience is beneficial since it will help pre-


service teachers choose appropriate teaching resources. In my experience, I discovered more effective
educational resources for the Pythagorean Theorem course. Teaching is more than just a lecture; I will use
drawings, demonstrations, problem solving, video presentations, and real-life examples. As a result, I can
claim that understanding Pythagorean theorem is lot easier this time around.
