How To Program TSC87C51 and TSC87C52 Microcontrollers: Compatibility
How To Program TSC87C51 and TSC87C52 Microcontrollers: Compatibility
Introduction
This application note is written to help users to program new TEMIC’s TSC87C51 and TSC87C52 EPROM or OTP
microcontrollers. Read it carefully as it contains useful information on how to use device programmers and program
the devices.
Product programming
Compatibility
The EPROM programming algorithms and set–up modes are compatible with new INTEL 87C51 and 87C52 core,
INTEL call it the FX core and is implemented in the new INTEL C51/C52/C54/C58 family.
Device programmer
Model
To program TSC87C51 or TSC87C52, select on your device programmer TEMIC 87C51 model or TEMIC 87C52
model. If TEMIC is not referenced in the manufacturer list, select INTEL 87C51 FX core or INTEL 87C52 FX core.
The programming sequence is only guaranteed with the TEMIC Model. All other model leading to programming
problem is out being considered by TEMIC warranty.

Q: My device programmer does not reference TEMIC in the manufacturer list, and INTEL 87C51 FX core is not
referenced, only 87C52 FX core is referenced.
A: Select INTEL 87C52 FX core model. Do not program the upper 4K (address 1000h to 1FFFh) as it should
overwrite the lower addresses. Disable the electric ID recognition and take care not to program the lock bits.
Q: My device programmer does not reference TEMIC in the manufacturer list, and the INTEL model does not
provide the electric ID recognition disabling.
A: Call your programmer tool vendor or the programmer manufacturer to get the TEMIC 87C51 and 87C52 models.
