The BuddyWorks Telehealth project 


This project aims to establish the framework for the automation of numerous health
transactions and may eventually pave the way for the justification of IT investments in
health under the oversight of the Philippine National Health Information
Infrastructure. It is also the National Telehealth Center's e-government project, which
is nearing completion and will allow the government's health bureaucracy to manage
electronic patient records. BuddyWorks is open source and may be integrated into
any DOH system. It can also be used as a model for the National Health Information
Infrastructure of the Philippines.

2. National Telehealth Service Program (NTSP)


The National Telehealth Service Program (NTSP) is a cooperative project of the
Department of Health and the National Telehealth Center that aims to extend
Telemedicine in 4th to 6th class municipalities across the country. NTSP uses a mobile
and internet-based interface and triaging system to promote consultations between
primary care physicians in rural regions and clinical specialists at the Philippine
General Hospital (PGH).

activities. The Master of Science in Health Informatics given by the University of the
Philippines Manila is the most prestigious of these. The curriculum takes a novel approach to
health informatics education by focusing on community-based and community-managed
health information systems that are ideal for resource-constrained settings.

In light of these, the Philippines is trying its best to improve and implement its health
informatics that can meet international standards to address the health demands of Filipinos,
particularly the marginalized and underserved.
