How do the ancient wonders
compare to the modern-day
architecture?
On this slide, there is
a link to the text set OPINIONNAIRE LINK
and a link to a google

after exploring
the text?
Please send Ms. Rice or
Ms. Ghatine a Google

You should have a
project group now.
CONGRATS!
If this is not the case, please let Ms. Rice
and Ms. Ghatine know ASAP.

If this is the case, please exchange

contact information in case you need to
work outside of class time.
EXIT TICKET TIME
We are going to play a small kahoot!
Winner will get bragging rights, hope
you all enjoyed today, see you all
tomorrow.
Day 2:
Source Gathering &
Analysis
Objectives:
Students will be able to explore the culture, innovations,
and significance of the society associated with their
chosen ancient wonder through think-alouds. (ie.

Your Turn
Go into your module for your chosen ancient wonder. Begin reading
and annotating in your project group. Take turns reading out loud. The
ones not reading on their turn will be taking notes. Share these notes
during the discussion phase.

Group Discussions

1. Counting off 1-5, students will form with others with the same number.
2. Share and compare notes from your article to share what you learned.
3. After all have shares, go back to your project groups.
4. Share and contrast your notes with those in your project group to see if
you picked out the same or different information from the text.
5. Once a consensus is made, one person from each group will make a
class discussion post (with member names) and post it by the end of
class.
6. Those in other groups are expected to post one comment under the
other groups’ posts.
Day 3:
Building
Foundation
Objectives:
Students will be able to
identify shapes and
measures in their wonders
by modeling with geometric
shapes

With the lists you have created, we are going
to create a class glossary. This glossary is
going to help you with today’s activity. Each
group will continue to share until no one has
anything left to add to the glossary

We will take volunteers first but if we get

no volunteers, groups will be called on
randomly.

chosen wonder with these
shapes.
Instructions
You are expected to make an estimation of the wonder.
Do your best at finding and naming shapes. It does not
have to be exact or include every detail, but we should
be able to tell what it is supposed to be.

We also want you to try to estimate the size of your

wonder based off of historical facts. Meaning you would
have to give your shapes lengths and measurements. If
this is too complex or impossible to do, please make your
shapes in a 1 inch scale.
Instructions Cont.
We need a list of all shapes used. Below we have linked a
table for you and your group to work on together during
the creation of your estimation.

This document will need to be filled out and finished. It is

due at the end of this project and will be turned in with
the rest of your work.
Instructions Cont.

The estimations you make about your wonder need to be

able to be presented or displayed. You have a few
options when it comes to this, you can draw it, use
technology to draw or create it or make a 3D
sculpture/diorama.

This display will be apart of your final project.
