4. Course Objectives:
1. The object of the Course is to ensure for that student know the principle of fair trial and how it
works in court with the principles of natural justice.

2. The course is designed to analyze the procedural part of criminal law in the country.
3. Crime is an act against the society at large. Thus the essential object of criminal law is to protect
society from criminals and law breakers. The procedural law supplements the substantive law by
providing the scheme for the enforcement of substantive rights and the remedies available.
4. To make student familiar with the procedure to be followed in the courts of law
5. To give student practical knowledge about the procedural law.
6. The Code of Criminal Procedure is essentially a code of procedure and like all procedural law, is
designed to further the ends of justice and not to frustrate them by the introduction of endless
technicalities. At the same time it has to be borne in mind that it is procedure that spells much of
the differences between rule of law and rules.
