Controls
Digital Control Unit (DCU 410) (1) - The DCU is the main user interface. The display shows engine data (oil pressure, coolant temperature) on the
main screen. The DCU also shows alarms in the alarm list and can be configured from the menu.

Power Indicator (2) - Lights up when the DCU has power, even if
the keyswitch is turned OFF.

Menu Button (3) - Press and release. Shows the first display
screen. Press and hold for one second. Shows the menu (settings,
help, and so on).

Alarm List Button (4) - Shows/hides the alarm list. If the alarm list
is already on the screen and the buzzer is active, it will silence the
buzzer instead.

Up Button (5) - Scroll up through the screens or menu items.

Start Button (6) - Start the engine. Depending on the

configuration, the button may have to be held down until the engine
reaches running speed.

Down Button (7) - Scroll down through the screens or menu

items.

Stop Button (8) - Stop the engine. Depending on the

configuration, the button may have to be held down until the engine
fully stops.

Soft Buttons (9) - The function of the soft buttons changes

depending upon the screen that is active. The current function will
be indicated on the screen.

Engine Control Switch (ECS) (10) - The engine control switch (ECS) has three positions. The (OFF) position is on the left. This position turns
OFF the key switch to the DCU and Electronic Control Module (ECM). The "Local" position is located in the middle. In this position, only the local
control panel can start or stop the engine. The local throttle is enabled. The "Remote" position is on the right. This position disables local starting or
stopping of the engine. Remote control is enabled. Local E-stop and crank override still work in this position.

OFF - Turns OFF the keyswitch to the DCU and ECM.

Local - Only the local control panel can start or stop the engine,
enables local throttle (lower/raise) switch (12).

Remote - Disables local start/stop, enables remote control (RP,

switchgear, and so on). Local E-stop and crank override still works.

Throttle (Lower/Raise) Switch (11) - Controls engine

speed. When ECS (6) is set to Local mode, this throttle is
enabled. The genset engine will go to rated speed, then the
genset can be adjusted by this throttle. The propulsion
engine will remain at current speed until the local throttle is
turned to within 50 rpm of current speed. The engine will then
follow the local throttle command.

Emergency Stop Button (E-stop) (12) - Immediately stops

the engine and removes power from the ECM.

MGCP IIIB - Press the left arrow to decrease engine speed, the
right arrow to increase engine speed.

MECP IIIB - Rotate the knob counterclockwise to decrease engine

speed. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase engine speed.

REMOTE

Remote mode can be overridden by the remote "Auto Mode" switch. The remote "Auto Mode" switch is found in the switchgear.

OFF - OFF mode turns off the key switch to the DCU and ECM.

Note: OFF mode is not a safety lockout. Ensure that all lockout/tagout procedures for the site are followed if working on the engine or control
panel.

Local - Local mode prevents "Remote" or "Auto Start/Stop".

Remote - There are four applications in remote mode. Refer to the

following sections for the application descriptions.

Auxiliary Engine or Generator Set

Local start is permitted if the configuration of the DCU allows local starting.

Auto mode is turned OFF. The manual mode indicator is

displayed.

Auto mode is turned ON. The auto mode indicator is
