a. Learning outcome
By the end of the lesson, all pupils will be able to write in simple language why they
like or dislike an event, description or character with guidance.
Main skill: Language Art (Writing)
Focus: 5.2.1 Express respond towards the literary text and explain in
simple language why they like or dislike an event, description or character
in a text.
Complimentary skill: Speaking
Focus: 2.1.5 Describe people, places and objects using suitable
statements.
Based on the lesson that was prepared by the teacher, below are the receptive and
productive outcomes gained from the lesson:
Receptive
• Reading
Activity: Read aloud and read along with teacher.
As pupils are from remedial class this activity will help to introduce
them with the phonetic knowledge which focuses on the
comprehension of the text.

Productive

• Writing
Activity: Pupils write a description by using correct sentence structure
of making statement using I like ….. because ….. / I don’t like …..
because ……
Pupils construct sentences to express their opinion using the
language focus that was introduced in the lesson.
• Speaking
Activity: Question and Answer Session
Pupils are able to give respond to teacher’s question related to the
lesson verbally.
Manual user guide in infographic design was prepared by teacher to show the process of the
lesson in the classroom. The steps involved in the process are prepared into the consideration
of skills as mentioned earlier in the learning outcome.

Pre-lesson (10 minutes)
1. Teacher guides pupils to do cat finger puppet without telling the pupils that they are
making cat puppet. (CCE/Project Based Learning)
2. Once they’ve done making the puppet, teacher asks what animal puppet that they’ve
made. (HOTS)
Lesson delivery (40 minutes)
3. Teacher Introduces the poem.
3. Pupils read along and read aloud the poem.
4. Teacher randomly chooses one pupil to read one stanza and others will follow. One stanza
ACTIVITIES only one pupil will lead the reading. The lead reader changes as the stanzas change.
5. Teacher explains the meaning of each stanza after pupils have done reading.
6. In group, pupils mimic the cat’s action and others guess. (Roleplay/21ST CA)
7. Teacher introduces adjectives (cute, fierce, happy, angry)
8. Teacher pastes flashcards on whiteboard about constructing sentences using “I like or I
don’t like”.
Post-lesson (10 minutes)
8. Teacher pastes pictures and pupils look at the pictures on the whiteboard.
9. Pupils describe about the picture using “I like or don’t like” and give reason using adjectives
in text.

d. Assessment

After the teaching and learning session, every pupil will be given a worksheet to test
their understanding towards the learning. The worksheet is prepared in accordance to
their mastery level in literacy which is writing and reading. As the pupils are from
remedial class, the teacher has constructed writing question from easy to difficult level.
The worksheet also consists feedback column to evaluate pupils’ satisfactory with
regards to the lesson. Pupils will be asked to draw happy face if they like the lesson
and sad face if the dislike the lesson. The assessment worksheet as per below:

Assessment worksheet

The basis of the worksheet is step by step writing question. Question one (1) and
question two (2) require the pupils to fill in the noun and adjective solely. These two questions
are easy level. While for question three (3) and question four (4), require the pupils to write
full sentence consisting of the statement (I like/I don’t like), noun (the cat), reason (because)
and the adjective (cute/fierce). These two questions are difficult level.
