A space frame structure is a rigid, lightweight truss-like structure constructed from interlocking struts arranged in a geometric pattern. It can span large areas with few interior supports by transmitting loads as tension and compression along each strut. Space frames are commonly used in modern buildings, allowing large roof spans without interior columns. An example is the Heydar Aliyev Center, whose entire exterior shell is constructed using a parametric space frame structure, allowing unique curved forms.

SPACE FRAME STRUCTURE
ABTS
MANTHAN KIRDAT ROLL NO 4 TY.ID B.ARCH WHAT IS SPACE FRAME STRUCTURE?
A SPACE FRAME OR SPACE
STRUCTURE (3D TRUSS) IS A RIGID, LIGHTWEIGHT, TRUSS-LIKE STRUCTURE CONSTRUCTED FROM INTERLOCKING STRUTS IN EXAMPLE OF A SPCACE FRAME STRUCTURE A GEOMETRIC PATTERN. SPACE FRAMES CAN BE USED TO SPAN LARGE AREAS WITH FEW INTERIOR SUPPORTS. LIKE THE TRUSS, A SPACE FRAME IS STRONG BECAUSE OF THE INHERENT RIGIDITY OF THE TRIANGLE; FLEXING LOADS (BENDING MOMENTS) ARE TRANSMITTED AS TENSION AND COMPRESSION LOADS ALONG THE LENGTH OF EACH STRUT. LOAD DISTRIBUITION IN SPACE FRAME WHERE IS IT USED?
THEY ARE VERY LIGHT WEIGHT
AND VERY RIGID. BECAUSE OF THIS THEY CAN SPAN OVER VERY LARGE AREAS WITHOUT THE NEED OF SUPPORTING COLOUMS SPACE FRAMES ARE A COMMON FEATURE IN MODERN BUILDING CONSTRUCTION; THEY ARE OFTEN FOUND IN LARGE ROOF SPANS IN MODERNIST COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS. THEY ARE ALSO VERY USEFUL IN CREATING CURVED AND ORGANIC FORMS IN BUILDINGS EXAMPLE STUDY- HEYDAR ALIYEV CENTER
THE COMPLETE EXTERIOR
SHELL OF THE BUILDING IS MADE USING SPACE FRAME STRUCTURE THE STEEL STRUTS ARE CUSTOM MANUFACTURED ACCORDING TO DESIGN AND THEN BROUGHT ON SITE TO BE ASSEMBELED SPACE FRAME STRUCTURE ALLOWS UNIMAGINABLE CURVES WITHOUT MUCH INTERNAL SUPPORTS THE RESULT IS BEAUTIFUL CURVES ON EXTERIOR AND VAST OPEN AREAS INSIDE THE BUILDING ZONNING AND STRUCTURE THE BUILDING CONSISTS OF 3 MAIN ZONES, LIBRARY CONFERENCE HALL AND MEUSEUM. ALL THESE ARE UNDER ONE ROOF WICH IS THE PARAMETRIC SPACE FRAME STRUCTURE.
THE BUILDING CONSISTS OF INTERNAL RCC
STRUCTURE(WHICH INCLUDES THE 3 ZONES) AND ALL THESE ARE CONNECTED BY A COMMON ROOF THAT IS THE SPACE FRAME STRUCTURE.
