Lesson 3 - Membrane-Bound Organelles

This document outlines the lesson plan for a 12th grade General Biology class on membrane-bound organelles. The objectives are for students to understand cell structure and functions, construct 3D models of cells, and describe the structure and function of organelles. Students will watch a video on organelles and participate in group discussions to identify and describe organelle functions. Formative assessments include tasks where students present on organelle structures and functions and take a multiple choice quiz. The plan accommodates students with limited resources through customized modules.

(EVALUATE) 1. It is a flattened sac network that is continuous with the outer nuclear
membrane?
a. Endoplasmic reticulum c. Lysosome
b. Golgi apparatus d. Mitochondria
2. This is an acidic membrane-bound organelle that contain numerous
hydrolytic enzymes which catalyze hydrolysis reactions.
a. Endoplasmic reticulum c. Lysosome
b. Golgi apparatus d. Mitochondria

5. Organelles, or separate compartments within a cell, are advantageous
because ___.
a. They seal each compartment completely and keep the organelles from
interacting.
b. They eliminate the need for communication with the exterior
environment of the cell.
c. They allow eukaryotic cells to be smaller on average and still contain
the vital machinery they need.
d. They allow different chemical reactions within the cell to operate
simultaneously without interference from the cytoplasm or other
reactions happening in different organelles.

J. Additional activities

V. REMARKS In the case of learners who have limited resources and special
needs that hinders them to join the synchronous online class, the
teacher will identify those students and facilitates their special
needs by customizing printed modules, provide recorded online
classes, upload e-modules and instructional materials in a learning
management software/platform for asynchronous online learning.
Also, a flexible time will be given to those students for them to have
enough time to attend to their e-modules and submit it.
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional activities for
remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners
who have caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why
did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
