General Instruction:
 Attempt all questions in your respective group (i.e. copying your classmate’s work is punishable)
 Read any reference material before you go through writing your answers.
 Attempt any four questions (i.e. from 1 to 5).
 Your work is submitted through telegram or email (workineh.teshome5@gamail.com)
1. Behavioral theories believe that people become leaders through the process of learning, teaching and
observation as well as leadership learning is a lifetime activity.
i. Can enrolling for a Programme on management and leadership makes someone a leader upon
completion?
ii. How enrolling for a leadership or similar Programme at the reputable school like Oromia
State University or other higher institutions can contribute to “making a leader”?
iii. How does an environment of ambitious people with an aspiration to become a leader can
affect an individual who entered this environment?
iv. Can Charisma, influence integrity and the ability to inspire be taught?
2. “Leadership is self-made”, what do you think that affect the most? Internal-will from the person to be
a great leader or external help from other people shaped that person to be a great leader?
3. Do you think that the genetic make-up is a fundamental foundation on which the further leadership
trait can be acquired? Or these are just the qualities that can be speed-up leadership development?
4. Taking one organization in your locality try to evaluate the leadership styles and models being used
together with the leadership development adopted and its implication on its effectiveness.
5. Briefly discuss a situation from your personal life in which you confronted with ethical dilemma. For
instance, this may have involved in a decision to tell the whole truth about an important matter, or to
reveal something less the whole truth.
i. What choice did you make?
ii. Are you satisfied with that choice now?
iii. Based on what you learned from this and related situation, include your thought on how
ethical question can provide opportunity for self-leadership as well as leadership for others.
