Transferwise set-up process

This document will review the actions required to utilize Transferwise to transfer funds from Toptal
payments to talent members’ Transferwise account.

Setting up a Transferwise account:

1. Navigate to ​https://transferwise.com​ and register to create an account.

2. Input the necessary information such as email, name, address etc. to register a Transferwise
account.

3. Once the account is created you will provide additional information such as currencies in which
you would like to be able to send and receive money. To add different currencies you can select
+ add balance and choose the currency you would like to hold.

4. Once the currency you plan to receive your funds in (ex: USD ) is selected then you can choose
to “Get Bank Details for Your USD Balance” This will allow you to send funds to your
transferwise account in the currency you selected.

5. In order for the bank details to generate, you must add a small deposit amount to open the
account. $20.00 will suffice. This will enable Transferwise to create the details. These funds will
also be available for you to use once the setup is complete.
6. Once funds are added you will be required to provide either a US SSN or TIN or a Non-US photo
ID such as a Passport or National ID Card for identity verification.

7. Once verification is complete and funding the account is in place you will receive the necessary
account details to send funds to transfer. Prior to moving to the next step ensure you have your
transferwise banking details available.

Adding Transferwise as a Transfer method in Toptal Payments:

1. Login to ​https://payment.toptal.com​ and select transfer on the home page.


2. Select the + add a new transfer method button

3. Select US as the country and Bank transfer as the method then continue.

4. Enter the details for your transferwise USD account on the transfer set up page and select
continue.
5. Confirm the details entered are correct and save.
6. Once saved you will see the new transfer method in your transfer center

7. When ready to transfer navigate to the transfer center and select your transferwise transfer
method and select “transfer” or you can set up an automatic transfer to transfer automatically
to your transferwise account.
