METHOD STATEMENT FOR KITCHEN COUNTER.

1. Objective:
The objective of this procedure is to lay requirements and to establish a method to kitchen
counter work activity to be carried out.

2. Scope:
The scope includes the guidelines to be adopted Kitchen Counter L&T Seawood Residential
Tower project to meet technical requirements. Suitable construction methodology has been
adopted in all the works to ensure quality and safety.

3. References:
- BOQ.
- Technical Specifications

4. Material:
The following materials will be deployed for the activity.

a. White Indian Marble.


b. Sand.
c. Cement.
d. Protection material.
e. Water.
f. Kadapa stone.
g. Coffee brown Granite.
h. GI L angle.
i. Fevitite (Epoxy adhesive).
j. Anchor fastener with wall plug (Hilti or Fischer).

5. Responsibility:

Section in-charge / Supervisor:

Concern section in-charge and supervisor shall execute out work as per procedure and maintain the
records for days’ work.

QA / QC Engineer:

To ensure proper methodology is being followed during execution .

6. Safety Precautions:

Only trained persons shall handle the activities.


Ensuring that material handling shall be done in proper manner & MS to be followed.
Use of PPE’s like Nose Mask, goggles, hand gloves, helmet shall be ensured.

7. Equipment’s and tools used:

Following equipment will be mobilized

 Electrical tile cutter machine.


 Electrical grinder machine.
 Trowel.
 Right angle.
 Nylon thread.
 Mortar measuring box.
 Aluminum straightedge.
 Motor mixing tray.
 Level tube.
 Rug cloth.

METHODOLOGY:

1. Fixing for vertical marble and Kadapa stone

 White marble shell cut the size of submitted shop drawing.

 Two white marble one on one to cling the same.one marble thickness is 15mm.

 Groove recess made into wall by chasing the wall 50mm depth or as require for fixing
vertical marble recess made into floor of as required gap filled with cement mortar.

 Vertical install with line, level and plumb and equally stand approved shop submitted
drawing.

 pre-fabricated GI brackets shell be fixed by means of mechanical of (Hilti or Fischer) make


to support the undercarriage.

 place over the vertical top on one sided polished 30mm Kadapa support given by chasing
into wall to require depth of 50mm or as required gap filled with cement mortar.

 All joint vertical marble/granite terminations inside flooring shall be sealed with water
proofing grout.

Preparation of cement mortar


 Check for mixing of cement mortar mixing ratio 1:4.
 Pot life of cement mortar 1 hour.
 Recommended thickness of cement mortar 20mm.

Fixing of granite top


 the granite tops shell be cut to size and the cutout in the counter top shell be made outside.
 Place granite counter top polished side down on even flat surface.

 Clean dust and any foreign particles cutout to prepare the surface for installation.
 Pre-polished granite slab fixed horizontally upon the Kadapa support using high polymer
based modified cement-based stone adhesive at required level.
 Marking and cutting of granite to the correct size of wash basin submitted approved shop
drawing.
 Granite edge, corner and nosing proper polishing done to the as per submitted approved
shop drawing.
 Before fixing of granite fix the sink as per submitted approved shop drawing.
 The edge of the cut the cut-out shell be polished by electrical hand polish machine as
indicated on drawing.
 Applied 20mm cement bed mortar to the top of the Kadapa stone.
 Carefully set the granite over the place in on the Kadapa this may require two people
depending on the size of the top.
 Wipe away excess mortar and allow it to dry according to bed mortar.
 The fascia piece shall be cut to required length and expose edge molded and polished as
indicated on shop drawing cut for cramps shell be made in the back surface of these stones.
 Install fascia shell be fixing using cement, Fevitite (adhesive), stainless pin.
