Overview
This document covers the discontinuation of the AANDC 04.04.0X (04.04.00 and 04.04.01) software solution.
The document also covers the discontinuation of the associated software product EMV/CAM2 for AANDC
03.0X.0X. The discontinuation date is 30th June 2022.
AANDC 04.04 was released in October 2015. It was the first release to support the BRM, S2 Native, EMV
Contactless, Connections State, TR31/34, TLS 1.2 and XFS 6.3.0.
AANDC 04.04 is a Windows 7 only release. Later releases of AANDC support both Windows 7 and Windows
10. The Microsoft support for Windows 7 is only available now on an Extended Support basis and this will no
longer be available beyond 2022.
The BRM recycling device is being superseded by the Scalable Recycler.
Later releases have improvements in the Connections, TR34, S2, EMV Contactless and XFS support which
are necessary going forward.
The EMV version associated with AANDC 04.04.XX, EMV/CAM2 3.0.X EMVCo Level 2 certification will
expire on 20-Dec-2021, making it impossible to use for new brand certifications.
XFS 6.3.0 and 6.4.0 were deprecated in December 2018 and 2019 respectively and XFS versions 6.5.0 and
6.6.0 will also be deprecated in the timescale proposed for AANDC 4.4.x deprecation.
It is strongly advised to use this deprecation notice as a further driver for moving the existing Windows 7
installed base on to supported and supportable operating systems, platforms and application versions.
Hence any customers wanting to continue to use AANDC 04.04.0X to its final discontinuation date of
June 2022 must update the install base to APTRA XFS 6.7 as a minimum. Any customers requesting
an extension/exception MUST also do the same. It is strongly recommended to migrate AANDC 4.4
customers to AANDC 5.x on Windows 10.

The AANDC 04.04.0x release has reached a level of maturity / stability which means it has required less
support in recent years. Also this release’s EMV Contactless capability has been superseded by an EMV
Contactless update that is superior and future proof. The Enterprise capability has been superseded by NDC
Enterprise. The PCI PADSS Certification for this release is only now valid for pre-existing deployments, not for
new deployments.
AANDC 5.x releases in 2018 and 2019 included support for Windows 10 as well as Windows 7, alignment to
Enterprise releases, New Core Support, NDC Enterprise Integration, Support for S2 Native features, Scalable
Recycler, Contactless EMV compliant to latest brand requirements and also enhancements to Voice
Guidance, Log Archiving, Multivendor and TLS. Future improvements will include Remote Supervisor,
Improved graphical supervisor capabilities, Scalable Recycler support and PADSS compliancy for future.
Significant enhancements have also been made in Deposit technology and updates to Marketing and
Personalisation. This later release also provides compliance to a more recent PADSS version valid for new
deployments as well as existing deployments.
This discontinuation notification provides an opportunity to open discussions to upgrade customers to NDC
Enterprise with the AANDC 05.0x releases and also to upgrade customers to Windows 10 with the AANDC
05.0x releases.
The AANDC 05.01 release is considered to be stable for all migrations from 04.04.0x and any migration
concerns should be discussed with the Product Manager.
This information is being provided as guidance to the Regional Sales and Professional Service teams to allow
planning to start on customer migration plans. Each country, area and customer situation needs to be
carefully considered prior to any customer communication being issued. With software discontinuation it is
often the case that local teams provide support e.g. answering queries from customers beyond the dates
published for the Corporate discontinuation of support.
Prior to any communication to customers it is very important that the Regional teams discuss to agree a
strategy of support for customers with earlier AANDC releases and plan migration paths, taking into
consideration
NCR appreciates there will always be exceptions to support and we would like an indication of which
customers we would need to consider support beyond an end of 30 th June 2022 and why.

Exceptions are only for existing deployments where no new functionality that was part of the
original deployment is being implemented. These exceptions will incur some additional cost to
the customer and will be time bound, involving additional contractual agreements and
extension product/service id purchase.
As a result of the existing deployment consideration - exceptions will only apply to production
support. New projects or functionality updates on existing deployments will be supported.
Please provide feedback to the APTRA Advance NDC Product Manager. No response is taken as no support
required beyond 30th June 2022.

Note 1: Education is not specific to versions as functionality from earlier releases is included in future versions
of the product therefore this will continue on as long as APTRA Advance NDC is available.
Note 2: Publications are continuously updated to show the latest changes so these will continue to be
available as long as APTRA Advance NDC is available.

Per normal procedure, software products will be archived for 5 years after the date of this notice. Effective
with the final notice, these products become unavailable for distribution.
