I. PREPARATION Answer Activity
1. MathXercise WW3 –Geometric Terms (10 pts)
Before you proceed to the lesson proper, do some relaxing exercises.
Check the video on how to do it! Use your textbook, answer Mental Math
6-10, and written Math 13 on page 293
2. Did you know? and page 295 Written Math B no. 23

 “No nature except an extraordinary one could ever easily
formulate a theory.”

3. Statement of Objectives
For this session, you will learn about the different mathematical systems
and illustrate the need for an axiomatic structure of a mathematical
system in general, and in Geometry in particular.

II. PRESENTATION
1. Reading & Watching
As you read the textbook on pages 289-295 and/or watch the teacher-
made video entitled Mathematical System, you may write down your
questions/clarifications and ask these during our synchronous discussion.

Be guided by the following questions. You may answer it mentally/orally or

you can take down notes in your math notebook.

 What are the different undefined terms in geometry?

 How do you formulate a good definition?
 What are the differences between postulates, theorem, and
corollary?

2. Synchronous Meeting
Join the synchronous session for your questions and clarifications. The
time and link will be posted in the BLESSMU portal.

III. PRACTICE
Direction: Try to answer the following given practices.
Practice 1 (page 293) Practice 2(page 293)
Mental Math no. 1-2 Written Math A. no. 11-12

Practice 3 (page 294) Practice 4(page 294)

Written Math B no. 21-22 Written Math C. no. 31-32
For practice and for you to know if you understood the lesson,
ACCOMPLISH THE DRILLS FIRST BEFORE YOU LOOK AT THE ATTACHED
ANSWER KEY. If you have questions/queries/ clarifications, send me a
message or bring them up for discussion in the synchronous meeting.

IV. PURPOSEFUL CLOSURE

1. Summary/Wrap Up
In Mathematics, an axiomatic system is any set of statements that are
known to be true and some or all these statements can be used to logically
derive certain results. This type of mathematical reasoning consists of the

following parts: undefined terms, defined terms, postulates (axioms), and
theorems.

2. Values Integration
“You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a
wicked man to be a malicious witness.” - Exodus 23:1

The only way to obey this command is to put a stop to a false report.
Doing nothing or remaining neutral is to allow the false report to
circulate. It is easy and dangerous to turn aside after many to pervert
justice, to follow with our peers and popular opinion. When doing so
promotes a false report or perverts justice, then it is sin. Therefore, we
need to choose our crowd carefully.
