General Company Description

A. Company History
Moneky’s Crib’s first product was Chocolate Banana Roll created in
the kitchen of Alissa May Jularbal a successful hotel manager and her
bestfriend Erica Dela Cruz who is a Flight attendant. It was in her
kitchen that she first created the Chocolate Banana Roll as an
experiment. Alissa May Jularbal and Erica Dela Cruz was craving for
banana and Alissa is hungry for a chocolate, so they try to create a food
using banana and chocolate and some other ingredients that can be
found in a kitchen. In their first time cooking it, they failed because the
banana they bought is over ripped and the finish product is mushy.
They try to contact their senior highschool colleague, Emelyn Costibolo
who is now an Executive chef at a 5 star-hotel. Emelyn gave advice that
do not overboiled the bananas and use flour instead of cornstarch. They
try to recreate the product, and they reached the perfect measure of
ingredients for the Banana Chocolate Roll. Alissa invited over her
business accountant friend Ruzzel Tasarra, to give him a taste of the
Banana Chocolate Roll. Ruzzel was so impressed to the taste so he tries
to convince the 2 (Erica and Alissa) to sell their product and he will
give his free advice for business. They both planned to sell Banana
Chocolate Roll, but they are too scared to try because the product is
unknown yet to the market. Erica has a business financial manager,
Khey Alonzo and encouraged both of them to sell banana chocolate roll
and helps them to create a business plan. They search for a better place
to sell it, and even reach out Lovely Jornadal a famous vlogger to
promote Banana Chocolate Roll. They also hire Princess Tabanao a
home baker and a pastry chef to help them create and sell Banana
Chocolate Roll. They also met Janica Ances and Lorraine Wilson a Civil
Engineers and Lorrain Mactal a Bank Manager, they are all interested
and invested to their business. Lizhel Tolentino also resells as a retailer
of Banana Chocolate roll that was used in a part-time business operated
by Ayessa Gayamo and Reyniel Martin. As they continue to receive bulk
orders from different cities, she encouraged her friend, Nixon
Barrientos a Market Research Analyst and Krisha Dizon an professional
photographer to resell her products so that it can be known by people
from another place.
The Company’s name “Monkey’s Crib” is formed when they come
up to the idea who loves bananas. They also come up to add the word
“crib” means a young child's bed. Moneky’s crib means a place for
anyone who love bananas. They all agreed to came up to this concept
and business because they believe many Filipino’s love bananas and a
great alternative for trademark merienda’s like banana cue, turon and
maruya. They all want to share the new taste and new twist to a banana

III. Environmental Analysis
A. Industry Analysis
Bananas account for a significant portion of many Latin American and Caribbean
countries' export revenues. According to the FAO and the Ecuador government,
banana industry direct and indirect employs around 2 million people in the country.
For many people, banana are essential source of income and employment. It also
provides the source of nutrition and food security to over 400 million people in
producer countries. However, the world’s banana production is only 15 to 20%
traded internationally (BananaLink, n.d).

Banana (Musa sp.) is Philippines one of the most common and widely grown fruit
crops. Also, it is one of the sources of major dollar in the country. In terms of value
earned, banana has consistently ranked next to coconut oil and prawns during the
last five years. Banana can be used in many ways. When not eaten fresh, the ripe
fruit is pureed, candied, and preserved in various forms. Its extract is used to make
catsup, vinegar and wine. Furthermore, the popular varieties of banana are the
bungulan, saba, lacatan, latundan and cavendish (Business Diary, 2020).

In the Philippines, industry of banana has been booming for decades. Primarily it
is because of the weather that is suitable for the cultivation of banana plant. With
revenue of the banana industry generates, millions of Filipino families will have the
opportunity for a better life. Furthermore, the world’s one of the major producers of
banana is the Philippines. It is ranked fourth, following India, Uganda, and China.
Despite the country’s significant contribution to the global market, 66% of the
banana produced in the country are consumed domestically. Only 34% is exported
(Royce Food Corporation, 2020). The target buyer of our product are the
individuals who loves to eat banana flavored healthy sweets. The total population of
Bacoor, Cavite is 664, 625 people.

Technology and social media have made an entrance into the industry easier. As a
result, the food industry has become very competitive. Threats of new food stores
are high simply because the product we provide can be offered by franchised that
are willing to put in their time and money or a trend on social media. Granted, that
Monkey’s Crib has only started. The shop still needs years to expand for more
variations, in view of the fact that there are many different suppliers. To compete in
this industry; they would need funding, networking, and an ability to put an effort
out there to gain customers and, in turn, create a variation of their product. Waffle
time, Belgian Waffle, and Roselyn’s Suyo Bananalicious are some of the well-known
stores and stalls that are having some good feedback on their consumers because of
the good quality of their products.

Just like many rivals, there are many foods businesses. These food stores have to
get their products from somewhere, most of which came from their own idea and
other sources outside of Bacoor or near the place where their store was built. With
this being said, our supplies came from our trusted suppliers. Most of the goods we
needed in the first week of starting the business came from us, such as flour,
bananas, eggs, utensils and pans, and other hygiene items. Before launching a food
business, we need to find some reliable suppliers who can offer us high-quality
ingredients. We made certain that the ingredients we used to make our product
were of high quality since we want our product to make a positive first impression
on the market and with consumers.

Monkey’s Crib offers the best food for you. All of our customers benefit from our
excellent taste and fantastic pricing. We provide genuine service and a kind grin to
all of our customers. We help to create a memorable client experience. You cannot
only acquire our service through our physical store but also through online

nearby areas; shipping fees depend on your location. We ensure customer service;
cleanliness and quality of the food and place were implemented. We serve the best
food that is new to your taste.

B. Competitive Analysis
Roselyn Bananalicious

Roselyn Bananalicious is a 2 by 1 meter banana snack shop in Bacoor Cavite, San

Nicolas 1. It was founded by Roselyn Suyo, the owner and cook, who is enthusiastic
about producing meriendas and has worked in the field for more than 5 years. The
target market of Roselyn’s Bananalicous are families, schools and companies of
construction workers, alfamart employees and many more.

Services offered: Roselyn's Bananalicious featured three banana products: banana

cue, maruya, and turon, as well as camote cue.

Pricing – Except for the Maruya, which costs 10 PHP each, each product costs 15
PHP.

Advantage - Bananalicious' location is one of their benefits because it is

located outside of the subdivision, attracting a large number of customers. It is also
affordable for everyone in terms of pricing.
Disadvantage- The disadvantage of Roselyn's Bananalicious is that when the
weather is terrible, customers are unable to visit the store. Customers will also
become bored quickly because the menu is the same as it always.

House of Turon
House of Turon is a 20-square-meter shop in Brgy Tala, Rizal Laguna, that was
established during the Pandemic in August 2020. This business is operated by a
Christian couple and formerly OFWs who previously worked in 5- and 7-star luxury
hotels in other countries. They returned to the Philippines to work for a Christian
ministry as part of the management team. House of Turon serves to families,
businesses, and special occasions. It is well-known in Laguna for its distinctive
flavors, which explains why House of Turon sold 5,979 items in their first month.

Services Offered- House of Turon offers a variety of banana turon flavors and types,
as well as banana cakes, banana churros, turon bilaos for parties, and banana
bibingka.

Pricing - A piece of turon in any flavor costs 38 PHP, while the classic one costs 29
pesos. They also provide a package deal, with prices ranging from 112- 294 PHP
depending on the quantity of turon ordered. They also sell bilaos (455 pesos) in any
turon flavor for occasions.

Advantage – They have four sites, including Cavite City, Rizal, and two locations in
Laguna. This has the advantage of allowing them to provide their products in a
variety of cities, as well as growing their business.
Disadvantage- The price of a single piece of turon is expensive, which is a downside
of House of Turon. Some people are unable to afford their item and will settle for
the second alternative of purchasing turon at a lower cost.

Waffle Time
In 1988, the Illongo notion of waffle time was born. In just two years, it had
infiltrated Metro Manila, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and Dagupan. Waffle Time

Frank, Swiss Chocolate, Belgian Chocolate, Bavarian Cream, Mango Magic, Pineapple
Pleasure, and Ultimate Ube.

seeking to become the Best Waffles in the World from being Ang Pambansang Waffle
ng Pilipinas! In addition, it is both affordable and of good quality.
Disadvantage- Due to excessive heat exposure, some of their items are mushy.

C. SWOT Analysis
Strengths- We are the only company in Cavite that manufacture Banana Chocolate
Roll. Our neighborhood is close to office buildings and a campus where merienda
and snack time are available.

Weakness—the perception of a lack of demand

Opportunities- Possibilities include the ability to develop new tastes and grow our
firm into new markets.
Creating an official Facebook page for Monkey's Crib's online selling enterprise.

Threats- On another street, there are banana cue, turon, and Maruya vendors.
Some stores sell things at a lower price.
Demand fluctuates throughout the working day.

C.2 Pricing Strategy

Our strategy is to reduce the price as much as possible because our target market
is students and those who are living in Bacoor. We all know that Bacoor, Cavite is an
urban area and we are in a province, meaning that we have province rate, so as
much as possible, we wanted our product to be affordable while they enjoy the food
itself. Since we are surrounded by schools, unlike our competitors, who have no
options for the sizes, we opted to add sizes for those who want to afford the product
and also enjoy the big size. Our banana roll cost will be fifteen pesos in the small
size, thirty in the medium, and forty-five in the large, both chocolate and plain. It is
very cost effective since most of the people just wanted to try the product and most
of them wanted the product so bad, that they cannot fulfill their satisfaction in just
small size.
Our price for our drinks in coffee, specifically iced and hot, is twenty pesos in small,
forty pesos in medium, and sixty in large size, and for our chocolate drink, iced and
hot, the same price in coffee. Nowadays, people often buy drinks rather than foods,
and since our product makes a person thirsty since it is very consuming, we have
made products that is in the budget, but the quality of the drinks are outstanding
than others. We assure our customers that they will enjoy our product and that it
will be worth it.

C.3 Place Strategy

Monkey Cribs’ staffs and members have decided to put our store in Niog 1 across the
narrow street towards the two schools which is St. Matthew Academy of Cavite and
La Vlaize Integrated Science School. In this way, we will gather the students as our
customers. Our assumed plan for our store is just to have three tables, and one
cashier and staff places. It is just a small store, good for 9-10 students inside, and
since we cannot accommodate more than ten inside our store. We plan to make it
small and cozy because as students, out budget is also limited for the monthly rental
of the space. We have estimated that the monthly rent will be 6,000 to 7,000 pesos
and our budget for monthly rent is the same. Our location is one of the busiest road
and place in the City of Bacoor since it is near the Highway or the main road from
Manila to Cavite back in forth and in this way, the province of Cavite is starting to
be populated as time passes by. It is an advantage since it is being seen and noticed
from the main road.
Our location is one of the best sites especially for a small business like us, because
the rent is likely high for us students, but it is one of the best perks since bustle of
the people are going in that way. Specifically, in Niog 1, it has eight nearby schools
in that area, excluding of other schools in different locals of government such as the
nearby locals like Panapaan, Maliksi, Binakayan, Mabolo, Habay, Zapote, and many
more. Our location is next to the Barangay or the administrative district which is
also an advantage since it is very safe and ensures the location. The street is well
protected by many local district officers, and it is surrounded by CCTV’s all around
the area. We wanted the safety of our customers, our staffs who manages the store,
and the safety of our location, since it is our business and one of our sources of
income. In addition to that, is since most of our competitors are well known and
most of them are in the malls, it is an advantage for us since we can rent the place
in small amount, and we do not have a big competitor in our location which makes
us standout in the area and in the field of our product.

C.4 Promotional Strategy

Social Media Marketing – Nowadays, social media plays a vital role in
promoting brands, products, and services. Hence it is called "marketing's next big
thing." According to certain studies, Filipinos spend the most time on social media.
As a result, social media is among the most essential and influential mediums
available. We will develop a Facebook page for Monkey's Crib so that our customers
are aware of our tasty and healthy product, as well as the fact that they can discover
very valuable information on our page. This activity is strategic since it is both costs
efficient and effective.
Print Ads – Monkey's Crib will give out free flyers and posters per area around
Bacoor. We will also provide stickers indicating the information about our product.

C.5 People Strategy

The hiring of an Employee – The Banana’s Crib business will look for employees
that are suitable for the job who is of course has experience or are expert when it
comes to cooking. The owner will look for at least 2-3 people only as the business
will just operate now.
Employee Orientation – After collecting who is the best for the job, the employees
will have an employee orientation. The orientation is about the product, ingredients,
proper measuring, and proper conduct which they need to accomplish before they
start their job.
Employee’s Training – Cooking, preparing, and proper conduct are very important
in this business because there’s a time that employees will also need interact to with
customers. When you treat your customer nicely and give them the product they
want, you’ll satisfy and will make them come again. Banana’s Crib will provide
training for its employees to increase the product’s satisfaction and the attitude of
the employees. Through this training, the business reputation will also increase in
time. The training is about the preparing of Banana’s Crib and the proper attitude of
employees.
Place: Ecotrend San Nicolas 1, Bacoor City, Cavite

attitude among customers.

C.6 Physical Design and Layout
Employees Dress Code:
The Color of the uniform of staffs is yellow with a Monkey’s Crib logo located at
the upper right of the uniform. At the back of the uniform there are words “STAFF”
to remind the customers who are the authorized person in the store. The employee
should also wear black slacks combined with black shoes for male and female
employees.
Moreover, after the blueprint is that we have decided to see what it looks like on
the actual shirt. Product color may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources
on our gadget or monitor.

Food Packaging:
For our packaging of the food, or where we serve the foods, we have decided to use
the Pinewood Tray which consists of three sizes, and we have chosen this because of
its’ aesthetical vibe and affordability, and it is also eco-friendly, so we really love it.
Our trademark was putted on the side of the tray where every customer can see it
.

As for those who wanted to take home or take-out their foods, we also have
prepared a to-go paper bag that consist of our logo outside the paper bag. Instead of
using plastic bags, we switched into paper bags since we are promoting eco-friendly
products.
In terms of the packaging of our drinks, since we only have two options for the
drink, either coffee and chocolate, we tend to use a cup that is capable of handling
hot and iced, so that it would not be expensive to have separate cups for different
temperature. Our cups have the sleeves to avoid the insulation to hands of the
hotness or coldness temperature, and this is where we putted our logo that makes
our brand known.

Physical Store:

Our store matches our business theme which banana and chocolate, you can see in
our exterior design the colors of brown and yellow with our logo as our signage.
Menu:
We made our menu in the most creative way where people tend to see it clearly and in
organized manner, plus it is relevant to our theme color which is the yellow and brown Since
our products are only few, we have made our menu to be quite appealing and relevant. In our
menu we include the price, size of each variety we offered. It is also included here our
Facebook and Instagram page.
