(Q1-W4-M2NS-If-20.1) : I - Objectives

Okay class, let's check your work. Who would like to share their answers? (Students share their answers. Teacher checks and provides feedback) Well done everyone! I'm glad to see you understood repeating patterns. Great job identifying the missing elements. Let's do a quick review: - A repeating pattern is a sequence where elements repeat in a predictable order - We can determine the missing term by looking at the pattern of elements - Identifying patterns helps develop logical thinking Thank you for your excellent participation today. See you next time!

A Detailed Lesson Plan in Mathematics I

I – Objectives:
A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of addition of whole
numbers up to 1,000, ordinal numbers up to 20th and money up to Ph100.
B. Performance Standard: The learner is able to recognize and represent ordinal numbers
up to 20th in various forms and contexts.
C. Learning competencies: The learner identifies, reads and writes ordinal numbers from
1st through the 20th object in a given set from a given point of reference.
(Q1-W4-M2NS-If-20.1)
II – Subject Matter:
Content: Identifying, reading and writing ordinal numbers from 1 st through the 20th object
in a given set from a given point of reference. (Q1-W4-M2NS-If-20.1)

Materials:
real objects, flashcards, pictures, boxes, pocket chart, laptop, projector, activity
sheets

Value: Coming to school early.

III – Procedure:

Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

A. Pre-Lesson of Target Skills

Good morning class!

Before we start, kindly arrange your chairs and

pick up the small pieces of paper under your chair.

Drill
Class, do you go to school early?

Who among of you here comes first this morning?

Second?

Third?

Okay! Is it good to come to school early?

Bernie.

Why?

Jeffrey.
Yes, very good! What will happen, if we come to
school late?

Leah Jane.
Yes, very good!
You will not able to join the activities that we do and
will not learn the lesson.
Review
Yesterday we have learned about finding
missing terms in a continuous pattern. Right?

Now, I have here an activity.

a. 2, 4, ____, 8
b. 11, ____, 19, 23
c. 5, 10, 30, _____

Who will come to the board and answer?

Motivation
I have here a box. Inside this box it contains 3
cutouts of square, 3 circles and 3 triangles. I am going to
get and bring them out one by one and arrange it.

The first one is (shows a triangle). What

shape is this?

That’s right. It is a Triangle.

The second shape that I am going to bring out is

(shows a square). What shape is this?

Yes it is a Square.

The third shape would be (shows a circle). It is

a circle.

(The teacher will repeat the sequence of picking of the

shapes.)

What do you see? What do you observe on the

arrangement of the shapes?

Yes, Tess?

Excellent!

What is being repeated on the shapes?

Berna?

Very good!

B. Developmental Activities
Presentation
As you have seen in the illustration presented
earlier, there were shapes that were repeated .

Here, I have another example.

What shapes are there?

That’s right. There is a star and diamond.

What else do you observe? Are they repeated just

like the example earlier?

Okay! They are also repeated just like the example

earlier.

These are examples a of Repeating Patterns.

C. Modelling
Again class, the illustration that you just saw
have patterns that are repeated.

When we say Repeated Patterns it is a type of

pattern in which elements repeat in a simple manner or it
is a sequence of objects that repeat constantly and
regularly. We can determine the missing term by looking
at the regularity of the objects repeated.

Okay, let’s have this example/illustration. Here,

Based on the sequence or pattern of the emotions,

what would be the final emotion? Happy or sad?

Yes, Elder?

Yes! Very good! That’s right. It would the happy

one.

Alright! Let’s have this one.

What do you think is the missing picture on the first

line?

Yes James?

Very good! It is the yellow shoe.

How about the next missing picture?

Yes, Romeo?

Exactly! The sock.

What is the pattern used in this set of pictures?

Nicole?

Very good, Nicole!

I have another one.

AB ___ CB AB BB ___ AB
There are letters in this sequence. What do you think
are the missing elements?

Yes, Melfie?

That’s correct. The missing elements are BB for the

first line and CB for the second line.

What is repeated in the pattern?

Excellent!

E. Guided Practice
Now class, you look at the pictures/illustrations
on the board.

I have here in my hand figures and shapes. What

you will do is put/paste it on the blank that corresponds
the missing answer. Understood?

Okay!

ab bb ____ db ab bb cd ____

F. Group activity
And now, we will have a group activity, but
before we start what are the standards in having a
group activity?

Group 1
Direction: Complete the sequence.

Group 2
Direction: Draw or make a repeating pattern using this
figures.

Group 3
Direction:

Are you done class?

Let us check the work of group 1.

(The teacher will check)
Alright, let us give group 1 a very good clap!

Next, let us check the work of group 2.

(The teacher will check)
Now, let us give nice clap to the group 2.

Last, let us check the work of group 3.

(The teacher will check)
Let us give group 3 a very good clap.

H. Generalization
What are repeating patterns again?

Yes, Aibel?

Very good!

How can you identify the missing term in a given

pattern?

Excellent! We can determine the missing term by

looking at the sequence of the lements in the pattern.

Very good!

E. Independent Practice
Let’s see if you really understood our lesson this
afternoon.

I have here a worksheet. All you have to do is

identify the missing figures in the given items.

Direction:

1. ______ ______

2. ____ ____ ____

3. ______

4. _____ ______

5. ____ ______
