MCA Project Guidelines 6th Sem
1. Students are required to exchange their e-mail ID’s and mobile numbers with their internal project
guides assigned by the college.
2. Students are required to give the detail of the organization & project title, where he/she has joined
his/her training, within a week.
3. Synopsis should be submitted within the 15 days of the joining. Synopsis must have organization
detail, detailed information about the project and certificate from the project guide appointed by
the organization.
4. Student should report to his/her internal project guide atleast once in 20 days with an appointment
through e-mail or phone.
5. Three copies of the final project report in the form of hard binding must be submitted in the
institute along with the soft copy of the project (in CD), latest by 13-05-2011. This is the last date
for submission & internal presentation of project. There will be an internal viva on 13-05-2011.
The students are advised to keep one copy of the project with themselves duly signed by all the
guides & the Principal of the institute.
6. The student has to bring the soft copy of the project at the time of Viva.. If Company don’t agrees
to give the code for the project work done, then a certificate must be issued by the company that
why they are not giving the code and the same must be present in the final report.
7. Index along with the page numbers must be there in the final project report and numbering of
pages in the report must start after the index.
8. Minimum number of pages must be 90 excluding all the certificates and chapter headings.
9. Students should get their final reports approved, by their respective internal project guides, before
binding so that if some changes are required, they can be easily made.
10. Students are required to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the final internal/external project
viva-voce and minimum no. of PPT’s should be 15.
11. The marks given in the internal viva-voce to the students will be based on the over-all
performance of the student during the whole project duration, number of visits, project report etc.
12. A fine of Rs. 250 per day will be charged after the due date and the candidate himself / herself will
be responsible for the submission of his / her project report in the University.
NOTE: 1. If two students are working in the same company then their project should be
different. Same project with different module will not be acceptable.
2. The Font size must be 12 and the font should be Times
New Roman excluding the certificates and Headings.

CERTIFICATE
The company certificate should be on the company’s letterhead. The details for this certificate may
vary from company to company but should certify the following things at least.

NOTE:
1. At the time of the submission of the project report in the college, if the
work done is incomplete, then the issued certificate should state that the
candidate is pursuing his / her project & the assigned project will be
completed by (due date of completion of the project).
2. The issue date and Ref. No. / Diary No. must be there in the certificate
issued by the company.
3. The student has to bring the soft copy of the project at the time of Viva-
Voice. If Company don’t agrees to give the code for the project work done,
then a certificate must be issued by the company that why they are not
giving the code and the same must be present in the final report.

Acknowledgement should not be more than one page. It should be signed by the student & should thank
the following in given order only:
1. Company / Company Person’s (CEO of the Company / GM of the Company)
2. Project Guide appointed by the Company
3. Principal of the College
4. Project Guide appointed by the Institute
5. Rest.
Note: There must be atleast one paragraph for the thanks of each.

(Index must be after the certificates and acknowledgement. Minimum number of pages must be 90
excluding all the certificates and chapter headings).
The report should follow the under given software development life cycle:
• Company Profile
• Introduction to Project or Product / Problem Assigned
• Requirement Analysis :

• Requirement Specification Document consisting of :
• Introduction to SRS
• General Description of project (i.e., functions, characteristics, constraints, assumptions
etc).
• Certain specific requirements (i.e, inputs & outputs, functional requirements, Hardware &
Software requirements etc).
• Software Design
• System Design
• Architectural Design (i.e., DFD’s)
• User Interface Design
• Component Level/ Detailed Level Design (Functional Design)
• Coding
• Approach used Top Down/Bottom up
• In absence of Codes (write modular level function & detailed functioning with screens)
• Testing
• Test Cases & Test Criteria
• Implementation & Evaluation of Project
• Containing maintenance measures
• Conclusion
The last pages of the report should have the following topics :
• Scope of the project
• Annexure
• Bibliography

STRICTLY FOLLOWED
