Task # 2 Tools For Reflection Practice

Tools for reflection practice include reflecting journals, incident analysis, self-assessment, and critical friend groups. Reflecting journals allow teachers to formally or informally record experiences from lessons including delivery, student achievement, classroom management, and content questions. Incident analysis involves timely observation of what was delivered in a lecture and how well students understood through methods like sticky notes. Self-assessment enables teachers to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. Critical friend groups consist of people like heads of class or colleagues who provide feedback on weaknesses in lesson delivery. Collecting data through these methods helps teachers develop their teaching style, identify strengths and weaknesses, and improve their classes. However, data collection takes time and can be difficult to manage.
