Severe Dust/Liquid Protection FANUC Robot Models

A FANUC Robotics standard Severe Dust/Liquid Protection (SDLP) package is optionally available for several FANUC robot models. This option is used in foundry and similar application where the robot is continuously subjected to the harsh environment associated with wet and/or dusty processing. The charts below define the index of protection standards (based on British Standard for Index of Protection #BS EN 60529 dated 1992) and the rating of each FANUC robot model equipped with the SDLP option.

Harting style with water-tight gasket Since FANUC robots have no motors or encoders at the wrist axes, ambient temperature at the wrist can be as high as 260F based on the grease and grease seals employed.
