Q.3 A box shaped vessel 200m x 30m is floating at an even keel draught of 8m. It

Q.9 M.V. Hindship was floating with all compartments empty except as follows
NO.2 DBP & S Full of Ballast, No1 DB contained 90 T FO. An inclining experiment
was conducted in this condition. A weight of 12T KG 10.1m shifted transversely
through a distance of 17.5m caused the deflection of 8.2 cms in Plumb line of
8.1m in length. Calculate GMs and KG of lightship. (May-16)
Ans:- No 2 (P & S) = 2 x 202.4 x 1.025 = 414.92 T
No 1 DB = 90 T
WT = 12 T
Total Displacement = 5499.8 + 414.92 + 90 + 12
