Assessment Task I.
I. Using your own words answer the following in three to five sentences
only. Note: Plagiarized answers will automatically get a failing mark. Before
submitting your paper, make sure to underline or italicize your answers.(10pts each)

1. What is the value of Art in the society?

Art comprises a wide range of activities that serve society. One of them is that via art,
each of us has the opportunity to express ourselves, our emotions, sentiments, ideas,
and imagination; we are also not confined to expressing ourselves just through
words; we may do painting, sketching, dance, and so on. Furthermore, we can
comprehend diverse cultures in our society via art, which helps us be educated and
avoid doing things that may be disrespectful to other people's cultures.

2. If Nature is not Art, how can one involve nature in the creation of art?
Nature can only be regarded an art form if it has been influenced by humans. Human
intervention is the transformation of a natural condition of an item into something
man-made. Flowers alone in the backyard, for example, are not an art form until they
are used to create a bouquet of flowers. With the aforementioned example, it is now
deemed an art because it was transformed into something man-made and was
related with the ability, method, and product.

3. What is the importance of experience in the process of art creation?

Experience is very essential to the process of creation because with this, a
person can create art. Experience will assist a person in making art in such a way
that those experiences will act as inspiration for him to have an idea on what to truly
communicate. Without experiences, a person can never appreciate an artwork nor
create one.

4. Differentiate briefly but precisely the difference between arts and crafts.
Arts and crafts vary in that a product is developed to merely convey one's
emotions and sentiments in the case of art. Crafts, on the other hand, are made
using a specific product that attracts people. Furthermore, art is an expression of
innate ability and innovation, whereas crafts entail skills and techniques developed
through extensive practice.

5. What is the importance of keeping a record of our history and culture through art?
Keeping a record of our history and culture via art is critical because it allows us
to comprehend the lives and cultures of those who came before us. Arts encapsulate
the essence and significance of things, helping us to get insight into the culture
practiced by people in the past. We may learn crucial things that will help us live our
lives in the present. We learn a lot by following in our predecessors' footsteps.

6. Explain the concept of Human as the measure of all things.

The notion of man as the measure of all things implies that man has the ability to do
whatever makes him happy in life. Humans, like artists, have the option to select
what we want, what style and method to apply. In addition, we have the choice to
select what art to support based on our moral values.

7. List down five things that can be considered as Art and five things that are Craft.\
ART
- Photographies
- Painting
- Films
- Novels
- Music
CRAFT
- Metal work
- Glass work
- Jewelry
- Fibre and textile crafts.

Learning Task I.
Artistic Expression (30pts)

Art, as discussed, is a medium for us to express our inner feelings and emotions. Art is not
only limited to paintings and drawing, things like poems, short stories, music, and dances
are also examples of Art. For this activity, I want you to reminisce an event, situation, or
activity and create your own artistic expression to honor/remember that particular moment.
You can write a poem or song to retell the story or you may also draw or paint (can be
traditional or digital painting) the mood of the literal
representation of the story.

You may use any material that would suit your artistic expression.

Reflection: Discuss briefly what your work of art is all about.

Based on what I drew, it is having a camping at the beach. I drew this because this is
one of the moments that I really miss. This art I made represent my feeling of longingness for
my friends and the memories we shared together. When me and my friends are not yet busy,
we tend to plan and do these kinds of activities together. Having this kind of moment really is
relaxing for me because, aside that I enjoyed the view. Having to spend time with my friends
makes me forget all the stress I am having. However, since we started our college journey,
we haven’t been able to do this stuff, making me miss it more. I am really hoping that we can
do this again soon.
