THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Online Selling link the students to the institution, engage them at a level of comfort
required to maintain their interest, provide greater access to mentors and allow students to
explore in order to grow.

Thus, many perceptions were also arising between the students because of this
circumstance. Whether they will sell for their needs academically like projects, assignments and
miscellaneous fees or they will just focus on their academics because high school students now
have heavy subject loads that are demanding of their time. That’s why the researchers decided
to conduct this study in order to determine the effects of online selling and financial stability
among students of Junior Highschool and Senior Highschool of Malinao School for Philippine
Craftsmen, perceived by the randomly chosen students in the academic year 2022 – 2023.

Selling online involves more than setting up a website and uploading product images. To
be successful, you need passion, expertise and marketing skills. The good news is, there are
numerous tools to help you with your online shop. Keep reading to learn everything you need to
know about selling goods online with an e-commerce busines (Fuscaldo, 2022).

Money is involved in many things and situations around the world. Every person had
experienced, at least once, to see and to hold money, so it is a big part of everyone's life. In the
form of a metal coin or a piece of paper, people value this thing to sustain their everyday needs
like food, water, and clothes. Being students, their allowance should be budgeted and allocated
well based on the amount of their allowance every day they go to school, particularly for those
students who have allowances ranging from 100php and above Martinico et al., (2019).

This educational system requires students’ versatility in doing things in order for
them to develop the level of ability to think critically and improve personal skills. Online Selling
has many factors which contribute to the students’ improvements in dealing with daily lives. By
considering the students financial stability, does the student acquire personal interests and
passion in joining such activity or improves their socialization and communication skills. Online
selling as part time jobs faces a lot of consequences that online sellers become busier than
before. And also, this study is going to determine the different opposing results if there is any.

This study aims to determine if online selling has an effect among students financial
stability. This study seeks to determine the number of students doing online selling and their
financial stability. Also, this study helps the school in honing not only the students’ financial
stability but also the skills and talents they have.
Statement of the Problem

The purpose of this study is to determine the online selling and financial stability among

students. In line with this, this study aims to answer the following research questions:

1. What are the financial stability among students?

2. What are their ways of online selling?

3. What are the challenges experienced among students who’s online selling?

Scope and Delimitation

This study focused on the online selling and financial stability among students of Junior

Highschool and Senior Highschool in the academic year 2022-2023.

The extracurricular activities were limited only to the school-based activities and out-

of-school activities including sports, workshops and seminars, journalism, etc. The students’

academic performance was analyzed and included in this study through their participation,

exams, projects and their grades for this school year.

The respondents of this study were limited to the Junior Highschool and Senior

Highschool students of Malinao School for Philippine Craftsmen in the academic year 2022-

2023 excluding the researchers.


Significance of the Study

The result of this study may give more knowledge about the different perceived effect
of online selling that have brought to the financial stability of every Junior Highschool and Senior
Highschool student. Armed with this information, this study is significant to the following:

1. Students. They are the ones who can benefit much from this study because they can
have this study as their basis or reference for future needs.

2. Teachers. They can have this study to be based on understanding the impacts of online
selling on financial stability of students.

3. School’s Administration. They can understand and guide the students who work as online
sellers as part time jobs.

4. Parents. They will know and understand the effects of online selling on
the academic achievement of their children.

5. Future Researcher. Serves as a related study to their research on a similar title.
