This thesis proposal outlines plans for a multimodal urban transit hub called Eudaimonia in Sta. Rosa Laguna, Philippines. The document discusses the problems of traffic congestion and lack of public transportation options in the Philippines. It proposes that a transit hub could help reduce traffic by promoting mass transportation and encouraging people to use public transit. The hub aims to create an integrated transportation system that connects different transit methods like buses and trains. It also seeks to be a community space and set an example of efficient public transit design.

Australian Integrated Multimodal EcoSystem

A network of smart sensors that are working to capture commuter,
vehicle and public transport’s movements in order to avoid dangerous
activity, enhance sustainability, improve safety and reduce congestion
has made an intersection in inner-city Melbourne to be the most
intelligent in the world

Australian Integrated Multimodal EcoSystem (AIMES) is the first

transport ecosystem of its kind, where new, emerging and integrated
Internet of Things (IoT) technologies can be trialled in a real-world
environment.
chapter 1

Because of the lack of rail infrastructure, the Philippines' roads now carry

STATEMENT 98% of all passenger traffic and 55% of all freight.

Aside from the increase of automobiles, there are increasingly more

OF THE
motor vehicles on Sta. Rosa Laguna's roads, and the city's road network
has barely grown.

The inefficient management of public transportation, which forces

public utility vehicles and jeepneys to compete for passengers, is one of
the causes why traffic keeps getting worse.

Increasing numbers of people are choosing to use alternative

transportation services or have their own personal vehicle for more
convenient and enjoyable daily travel due to overcrowded buses and
traffic jeepneys as well as frequent failures of the railway systems.
