Abstract

We have used HTML, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and JavaScript to develop a fully
functional and deployable Online Education Website which is platform independent and device
dependent as it adheres to the needs of both the desktop computers as well as mobile phones.
Students can apply for courses and enrolled himself for the different courses. It is a great
tool to organize courses. Student use tools such as web forms and learning purpose. Our
website fulfils all their needs both of the Students and that of the person alike.

1. Introduction

The growing significance of websites for various organizations is well known. In recognizing
that we decided to develop a website for the student which compromises of all the required in
formation about the courses.

1.1 Purpose of the project:

The purpose of our project is to design, publish and maintain a website for our Online Education
which consists of all the information regarding the courses like type of courses, faculty for the
courses etc.

1.2 Current and Proposed System:

1.2.1 Current System:

As the existing website is not maintained and the domain has been blocked there is a
need for new one.

1.2.2 Proposal System:

Initially the college authorities had the feeling of maintaining a comprehensive website for
information exchange apart from existing one(static). We used all the possible ways to
monitor the data and maintain and format the data requested by the authority. Also to
formulated the text to embed into World Wide Web. The data is about to change all the time
so we will update it all the time possible.
2. Required Specification

2.1 Software Requirements:

 Browser: Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox or Chrome.

 Operating system: Any Windows version/ MAC/Linux.
 Stacks used:
❖ HTML
❖ CSS
❖ Java Script
❖ PHP

2.2 Hardware Requirements:

 Processor: Intel Pentium IV or above Ram: 512 MB or more.

 Hard Disk: 40 GB or more

2.3 Functional Requirements:

 The system provides all the information about the courses and
faculty in detail
 The system gives in detail description of our courses
 All the information about the faculty and labs are provided in
department wise
 All the necessary information is rendered with proper images and
flash slides for better navigation

2.4 Non-Functional Requirements:

 Runs on low performance systems and on any environment.

 Cost effective deployment (When buying out storage space).
 All the languages used to develop the system are Client-
side scripting languages which provide dynamic system.
2.5 HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
PROCESSOR : PENTIUM IV
CLOCK SPEED : 2 GHZ
SYSTEM BUS : 32 BITS
RAM : 128 MB
HDD : 40GB
MONITOR : SVGA COLOR
KEY BOARD : 108 KEYS
MODEM : 56 KBPS
MOUSE : PS/2
FDD : 1.44 M
4. Analysis

A methodology for developing an online PM course would have many components in

common with many other types of online courses. Many of the activities involved in any
online course such as tests on content, discussion groups and submission of work products
would be the same for a PM course. Since the course content involves

soft skills, such as management and leadership, fruitful discussion forums can be created
around the various topic areas allowing students to post comments, short essays and links
to papers or articles on the web. The online platform provided by much course
management software today, such as “Blackboard” allows for the creation of a learning
community centered in the knowledge areas of PM. In many ways, an online course
platform provides a useful learning area, whether the course is online or offline, acting as
a virtual “war room” in which the students and professor can interact.
Pall off and Pratt (1999) provide a number of suggestions for managing an online course
that will create a community of learners. A major point in the book is that interaction via
the web is different from classroom interaction; it draws on different skills from both
students and professor than face-to-face meetings in a classroom. An online course has a
way of democratizing the class experience by emphasizing written communication skills
as the primary vehicle of expression and by eliminating many social cues such as dress,
physical appearance and body language. An online course also introduces delay in the
communication process, a delay between when something is posted, when it is read, and
when a response is posted. The major form of establishing that a communication has been
heard is to post a response and if the discussion groups are not being updated several times
a day with postings from students and the professor, there is a tendency for students to
drop out of the conversation. The richness of face-to-face conversation has to be replaced
with a rich version of a written conversation. Borich (2004) identified five classroom
teaching strategies, namely direct instruction, indirect instruction, questioning strategies,
self-directed learning and cooperative learning. These strategies can be adopted for online
courses (Borich, 2004; Glass, 2006). Table 1 show these classroom teaching strategies
with appropriate IT technology for possible use in an online teaching environment.

6. Applications:

Here are a few noteworthy features for your e-learning web app. Keep this as a
checklist while building e-learning web apps for your online classroom.

⮚ Learner-centric web layout and responsive designs Reminders, appreciations, and

other relevant push notifications.

⮚ Variety of different learning materials like visuals, videos, podcasts, etc.

⮚ Holistic micro-learning concepts.

⮚ Downloadable online content for future reviews.

⮚ Multiple quiz formats

7. Conclusion

It has been a great pleasure for me to work on this exciting and challenging project. This project proved

good for me as it provided practical knowledge of not only programming in Html, CSS and JavaScript,

net web-based application and to some extent Windows Application and SQL Server, but also about

all handling procedure related with "Online Educational website". It also provides knowledge about the

latest technology used in developing web enabled application and client server technology that will be

great demand in future. This will provide better opportunities and guidance in: future in developing

projects independently.

Student use websites to reach not only student enrolment goals but also financial goals. Whether

they are running a fundraiser or simply taking donations in general. The website is a gate way

for users to get to the right place
