Previous Lesson lesson last meeting?
B. Developmental Activities Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity
1. Motivation/Set Okay class, before I introduce you to our topic for (Students watching the video)
Induction today. Let us all watch the video, and you can also
sing along.

Class, before we start our lesson, I will show you a

picture.

What are these two picture children?

The sun and the moon.

So what do you think is the difference between the

sun and moon? The sun only comes out during the day and the moon
comes out during night.
Very good!

So what body part is used to see the difference? The eyes.

2. Presentation/Lead-In Our new lesson for today is about the Eye. Today, we
will learn about:

1. What are the use of the eyes

2. What are the outer parts of the eyes
3. What are the proper care of the eyes

What is in the picture? The eyes.

Very good, students

So the eyes, these are the sense organs for seeing.

3. Discussion/Focalizatio
n
Your eyes work from the time you wake up in the
morning until you sleep at night.

So what are the use of the eyes?

(students’ answers may vary)
It helps us identify shapes and colors just like you see
in this picture.

What colors do you see?

How about shapes? Pink, green, blue and orange.

Okay, very good children! Circle, triangle, square and rectangle

With your eyes, you can tell the size of an object.

You can see how small or big an object is.

You can also tell how long or short it is.

Your eyes also see the position of things. For example,

you can tell if a person is sitting or standing.

So who's the one standing?

The man in a black suit.
How about the one sitting?
The man in the green shirt.
You can also tell if an object is inside another object.

So what are the objects inside the box, children?

Bear, ball, racket, and train.
You can tell where an object is.

These pieces of information about things that your

eyes see are sent as messages to your brain. Your
brain reads these messages. You are then able to name
and describe objects.

So what are the parts of the eyes? Any ideas?

(students’ answers may vary)
Okay, before we start I want you to get a mirror.
(students’ getting the mirror)
Now you have the mirror, let’s begin discussing the
outer parts of the eyes.
The first one is the pupil.

Light enters the pupil. The pupil is the black circle in

the eye.

Now, I want you to look in your mirror and see your

pupil. (students’ looking at the mirror)

So have you seen your pupil?

Yes, teacher.
Very good!

Okay, next one is the Iris.

The iris controls how much light enters your eye. The
iris gives color to the eyes.

I want you to look in the mirror again and look at your

iris. (students’ looking at the mirror)
What color is your iris?
(students’ answers may vary)
Okay, very good!

Next is the Sclera.

Sclera is the while outer layer of the eyeball. It works

as the supporting wall of the eyeball.

Next is the eyelids.

The eyelids close and open your eyes. They protect

your eyes from harmful things such as dust, sunlight
and air. When the day is windy, dust could enter and
harm your eyes. Notice that your eyelids immediately
close when dust suddenly comes near your eyes.
Next is the eyelashes.

The eyelashes give added protection as well. These

are rows of hair on the edges of the eye.

The last part of the eye would be the eyebrows.

The eyebrows also give immediate protection from

the sweat. When you play, you sweat. Sweat does not
go down easily to your eyes because eyebrows move
it away.

Now, let’s move on to the ways on how to take care of

our eyes.

Everyone please read.

1. Eat foods rich in vitamin A such as squash,
carrots, and bananas.
2. Read when there is enough light.
3. Do not rub your eyes when they itch.
4. Do not look at the sun directly.
5. Avoid watching too much television.
Thank you, children!

Remember: See an eye doctor if you feel pain or

discomfort in your eyes.
