STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The art of predicting and analysing future outcomes based on data and trends
is a topic that has always fascinated me. Data analytics is in use almost
everywhere, whether it’s for Predicting buyer preferences on online shopping
sites or for influencing political victories. The utility of data analytics and its
vast scope for practical application in all areas of industry and technology has
made it my dream choice for further studies as well as the ideal career option .
Over the last couple of years, digitization has led to a massive shift in business
tactics and principles. I would like to develop my mind deeper into data
analytics and complete my Big Data Analytics programme from one of the
leading universities in the UK. The reason is that, the UK is one of the most
commercially refined nations, and the courses are perfectly in connected with
the industry. The Birmingham University offers this program to international
students, and I have decided to pursue this course from this institution. A
berth in your university would definitely mould my career in the desired way.

As a person, I am self-motivated & goal-oriented. Academically, my


performance has shown consistency all these years. In 2009, I cleared my
Secondary Examinations under the CBSE Board, aggregating 59.4%. Next, I
bagged 65.6% marks in my Higher Secondary Examinations in 2011. After that,
I decided to pursue BBA, as I realized my skill traits. Finally, I got myself
admitted to the Mahatma Gandhi University to pursue this course. In 2014 I
got graduated in BBA with 64.5 % marks.

After completion of my under graduate degree I joined as a process associate


at Capgemini India PVT LTD for almost 2 years which gave me quite good
exposure in multiple environments. During this period I got a better
opportunity as a MDM Senior Associate at Lafarge Holcim Global Hub Business
Service in 2017 and successfully completed 5 years. During these working years
I got to handle and experience Vendor Master Data operations and Customer
Master Data & Credit Management Operations. My tenure here has also given
me incredible exposure in working with data, and my passion for the subject
continues to grow very stronger day after day and I found data analytics to be
a subject that’s very interesting. During these processes, I was completely able
to work on my organizational and communication skills too. All these
experiences helped me a lot to strengthen my core traits as well as soft skills. I
also participated in several workshops and seminars, that strengthened my
profile.

I have been always a quick learner, being methodical in all the process of
acquiring knowledge. I have been clear in meeting strict deadlines during my
academic projects, while focusing on my goals. My interpersonal and
intrapersonal skills and go-getter nature are complementary efforts to scale
higher into the industry. Being diligent I have made the most from the
opportunities I got to acquire practical skills during my graduate and work
years. Aligning my past experiences and skills with the ones I am about to
acquire, I look forward to streamline my profile.

In long-term, I see myself growing as a Big Data Analytics expert who is able to
provide innovative solutions for tackling the innate challenges that arise from
business processes. I would like to use my expertise and knowledge to build
efficient models with minimal to no-risk factors by using relevant data
extracted from the large source material. I have an absolutely keen social
consciousness and want to solve real-world problems that affect humans on a
day-to-day basis.

The Birmingham University would be the perfect choice for me as the


institution has got an established track record of success. This MSC Big Data
Analytics course comprehensively has all the areas covered up that I am willing
to study. This is a crucial juncture of my life, as I step towards greater
professional goals. The sophisticated ambience in the university will streamline
my professional profile significantly. University programs are designed to
expand and build on the existing expertise and skills, in turn equipping me with
everything that I need to advance my career or shift in a new direction.
Realized university’s aim is to help us to achieve our personal and professional
goals. It helps to boost and widen career prospects or to satisfy a desire for
further learning and delivers everything that required for a successful career.
I completely believe that this programme at your university will channel my
skills and potential towards my ultimate goal of becoming a successful
entrepreneur. The world class faculty, infrastructure and laboratory facilities at
the university will help me to gain a different perspective by diminishing the
gap between theoretical studies and practical experience. Your dynamic
curriculum will help to gain a foundational understanding of the Big Data
Analytics field and help the students including me to develop our analytics
skills in an early stage.

I strongly believe that the degree which I will get from the Birmingham
University will provide me with good opportunities in the global workplace and
enhances my career. Since India is a developing country and we have huge
potential in most of the sectors in the present day, be it any sector. Therefor
soon after the completion of my program, I will be returning back to my home
country with quality academic and work experiences to start my professional
career in the Big Data Analytics field. After completion of my programme in the
UK, with knowledge in mind and degree in hand, I look forward to returning
back to my home country India where certain responsibilities are there
towards me to fulfil my parent’s dreams.
I look forward for achieving my study permit to study MSC Big Data Analytics at
Birmingham University with the sole motive to enhance my career and wings
to fly start my career ahead.
I really wish to utilize this program in order to enlarge my professional horizons
and also gather a network of likeminded and ambitious professionals. I am
totally confident in my belief that being a part of this program will enable me
to successfully achieve all my dreams.
