B. INTERNATIONAL CASE STUDY
For 13 residents and a caretaker, there are rooms, kitchens, and dining areas in each housing
community, creating a manageable and comfortable environment. A stimulating environment is provided by
the large balconies and loggias, as well as the variety of paths and views to other areas of the house. To aid
people in getting their bearings, each neighborhood was built around a distinct color scheme. The locations
and faces of the rooms vary a little, but each has a casement window and a larger window with a low, heated
parapet that can be used as a seat. The care rooms are centrally located within the building, ensuring that
they are only a short distance away for everyone and that the home can operate efficiently.
the nursing home could be constructed as a pre-fabricated passive house wooden construction with a
basement. A wooden frame construction with cross laminated timber and wooden beams was used to meet
the static and structural demands of the building. Untreated Austrian larch makes up the exterior façade, and
much of the interior wood paneling is also left exposed. The home's comfortable and welcoming atmosphere
is influenced by the properties of the wood, the variety of views, the variety of seating and lounge areas in
the house and garden, as well as the contrast between sunny and shaded areas.
The two upper floors of the building are entirely wooden structures apart from the main stairway. The
load-bearing structure in the walls and ceiling is made of cross-laminated wood, with the wooden
surfaces mostly staying exposed. In order to achieve the cozy yet spacious atmosphere, timber beams
were used for the ceilings of the common rooms. With exterior wooden paneling, the outer walls are
made of a timber frame that has been rock wool-insulated.
