Sample Rationale & General Objectives
Based on the findings of the study, what mentoring program for new teachers could
be proposed?
Thus, the proposed Intensive Mentoring (I-MENTOR) Program will offer school-
based mentoring approach for new teachers with the active involvement of the school
leader, and other school members. With this program, new teachers will be given proper
orientation on the nature of the learners, needed collegial support, a year-round
mentoring support, and other activities that will assist them in their first encounter with
the professional community.
In addition, new teachers will be given opportunity to evaluate their first year of
experience with the program. The results of the evaluation will be used as a basis for
further enhancing the design of the program in order to support new teachers and
promote a new tradition and positive culture for them.
2. Create a positive culture of collaboration between and among new teachers, school
leaders, and fellow teachers;
